GIANTS Software announced the evolution of Farming Simulator Championship into the Farming Simulator League. That’s right - there is competitive farming.

Why?

Well, while the 2018 season featured four events with prize pools ranging from €1,250 to €2,890, the new League will have ten tournaments across Europe. Each will provide points on the Farming Simulator circuit, as well as awarding a combined €150,000 in prize money. At the end of the season, top teams will compete for €100,0000 and the title of Farming Simulator Champions.

In the company’s press release, Christian Ammann, CEO of GIANTS Software and manager of their esports division explained, “We believe we found the right mix of real farming and fun to play game elements to ensure everyone will find it entertaining.”

The company announced a partnership with Logitech G earlier in the month. They will also partner with Intel, noblechairs and Nitrado to bring this new expanded season of Farming Simulator League to fans.

The demand for farming simulation esports is higher than even GIANTS initially anticipated. Their first event at AgriTechnica 2017, a farm technology expo in Hanover, Germany was a smashing success, drawing bigger crowds than anticipated. In an interview with The Esports Observer, marketing manager Martin Rabl indicated that after the success of 2017, AgriTechnica 2019 would likely host one of the Farming Simulator League events.

However, full details about individual League tournaments will be forthcoming. GIANTS has confirmed the League will feature Farming Simulator 19, the newest edition of the game. The competition will step up from previous modes such as bale stacking to a 3 vs 3 mode that will be more clearly defined in the future.
