League of Legends News

League of Legends is arguably the biggest esport on the planet, boasting millions of players and millions of watchers for their World Championship. Riot Games launched League of Legends in October 2009, following the massive success of the Warcraft III mod Defense of the Ancients. League did not stray too far from the basic premise of what would become the MOBA-genre, as two teams of five compete to destroy the opponent's base. Upon release, players had 40 champions to choose from. That number has ballooned to over 150, as the game continues to grow every year. League of Legends' first World Championship took place less than two years after launch, with eight teams from Europe, North America, Southeast Asia competing. Fnatic would walk away as the winners and the lineage of Worlds began. Since then, LoL has formed competitive regions all over the planet, vying for their place in International events. With plenty of League of Legends news to keep track of across the entire world, it is easy to get lost. Don't worry though, Hotspawn has all the League of Legends news you could find from the game to the esports scene.

LCK News

League of Legends Champions Korea has arguably the most storied region in the world. With six World Championship winners, including five in a row, the LCK has routinely been atop the League of Legends mountain. The lineage of the LCK dates back to 2012 when the region created The Champions. However, the LCK as we know it now formed in 2015. The LCK features 10 teams, including DWG Kia and T1. The league follows a similar format to other regions in League of Legends, competing in two splits each season, each with its own champion. The most storied franchise in the LCK is undoubtedly T1. Dating back to their days as SK Telecom T1, T1 has won three World Championships, seven domestic titles and is home to the best player of all-time in Faker. If you are looking for all the best LCK news in one place, be sure to check out Hotspawn. Whether it is up-to-date roster trackers, day-to-day LCK news, big features or more.

LCS News

The League Championship Series is the premier destination for League of Legends in North America. Originally, the region was called the NA LCS but after the European region rebranded to the LEC, the NA was dropped to just call it the LCS. Though the LCS has existed as a region as early as 2012, it wasn't until 2018 that it formed into the region we know today. 2018 was when the LCS introduced franchising to the region. Over 100 different bids were made to earn a spot in the LCS, but this was narrowed down to just 10. These 10 teams consisted of six that previously competed in the region, one new esports organization and three from NBA affiliated groups. In the early days of North American League of Legends, TSM was the dominant force, claiming six of the first 10 domestic titles. Over time, TSM was overtaken by rival Team Liquid. Today, the LCS is one of the most wide-open regions in the world. If you want to keep up with all the up-to-date LCS news, you will not find a better place than Hotspawn.

LEC News

The League of Legends European Championship is the premier destination for, well…European League of Legends. The roots of the LEC date back to the EU LCS in 2012, as they joined the international League of Legends scene as North America. The LEC as we know it today formed in 2019, rebranding and beginning a franchise-based model. There was to be no more regulation, something that was a staple, but rather 10 permanent franchise spots. The European League of Legends scene made a huge statement on the international scene, as Fnatic won the first-ever World Championship in 2011. Though it was a monumental and historic moment, the region has yet to reach the top spot again. LEC news comes fast and furious. Make sure you never miss a moment of the LEC news cycle with Hotspawn.

LPL News

The League of Legends Pro League, or LPL, is the home to the best Chinese teams in LoL. Unlike other regions, the LPL consists of a whopping 17 teams. This is the most teams of any major League of Legends region by a large margin. During the early days of League of Legends, the LPL struggled to topple their LCK brethren, often being looked at as the second-best region in the world. This has changed in recent history, as the LPL has won the World Championship in 2018, 2019 and 2021 (while finishing second in 2020). Historically, the LPL has been dominated by two teams – Edward Gaming (EDG) and Royal Never Give Up (RNG). Between these two franchises, they have 10 domestic titles and 11 Worlds appearances. Keeping track of all 17 teams and all the happenings of the LPL news cycle can be a challenge. But you don't need to fall behind. Keep it locked on Hotspawn for all the LPL news.
