The newest update has introduced the Fortnitemares event for Halloween. We’ve got tons of different collabs coming to the game, but one of the biggest is Jason. The character from the iconic Friday the 13th series is coming to Fortnite as a new boss on the map and skin. What exactly is coming to the game, where is Jason in Fortnite, and when does it all release?

Where is Jason in Fortnite? Skin and Boss Explained

Jason coming to the item shop is a bit more unknown. We have a good idea of when to expect the collab thanks to leakers providing estimated release dates. But the Jason NPC in-game is different. It’s arrived along with the rest of the Fortnitemares map changes, like new POIs and the Stalkerbox feature on the map. Where is Jason in Fortnite and what does he even do? This is how you can get the mythic shotgun, and the Jason Fortnite skin release date.

Where is Jason in Fortnite?

Dropping into Fortnite after the most recent update, you’ll be able to find quite a few spooky changes on the map. Including a new boss which roams around a specific POI. If you’re wondering where is Jason in Fortnite, he’s currently just walking about waiting for players as a boss.

You can find him at creepy Camps. This is a new POI which has numerous camp buildings and a lake. Essentially the perfect locale or Jason to kill off a bunch of players. If you’re not familiar with Friday the 13th, maybe you’ve been searching up and down for Jason in Fortnite. But he’s located at the most obvious spot, by far, in the Fortnitemares event.

Actually, finding him in the POI is a little difficult though. You’ll need to fight him. However, he’s just walking about. He can be hard to track down if someone has already been killed off by him. He could have wandered into a random building to chase them at some point and gotten lost. You essentially just need to search the POI thoroughly and you’ll be able to track down Jason in Fortnite.

He won’t start fighting until you get close. Like the older Bosses that don’t have specific phases and other features, Jason is a simple fight. Keep your distance and use the best Fortnite weapons like AR. You should be able to take him down after a little while. All that gunfire will draw out enemies though. So be careful, and don’t let him get too close.

What Does Jason Do?

That’s the answer to where is Jason in Fortnite, but what can you actually get? What’s the point in fighting him? You get some pretty decent rewards if you finish Jason off.

There’s a mythic weapon you can get for taking him out. The Mythic is the High Stakes Shotgun.

This is a Wood Stake Shotgun, so the bullets are a little strange. It does do 191 damage per shot though, so it has a crazy damage output. The POI has plenty of loot too. And there’s a flag to claim for Blue tier loot too. So, it is an old landing spot this season. Although, once more players know where is Jason in Fortnite it’ll likely be a bit busier.

When Does the Jason Fortnite Skin Release?

Tracking him down is one thing, but how can you get the Jason Fortnite skin? If you have Mystique, one of the best Fortnite skins thanks to the transform emote, you can kill Jason then transform into him. Otherwise, you’re waiting for the Jason Fortnite skin release date.

Fortnitemares has only been going for a day so we can’t expect all the skins to be available already. We began the event with Doja car in the Item Shop. Both the Ghostface Fortnite skin and the Jason Fortnite skin will be coming a little later.

We can expect these to rollout over the next week. Spaced apart a little bit. That way Scooby Doo, Poppy’s Playtime, and all of the other Fortnite collabs get a bit of focus. According to Fortnite leakers, Jason Voorhees is coming on October 17th.

This will make it the second to last release of the Halloween skins. With Shaggy and Scooby Available next, and the other half of that collab coming after Jason. Players will likely have more than a week or so to get the skin. That’s when Jason in Fortnite might get a bit confusing, with other players wearing the same skin.

On the map though, the Jason Boss will be available for the rest of the month! Up until the Fortnite season ends. There are loads of fun items all over the map. But make sure you check out the Jason fight at least once, it’s carrying one of the best shotguns we’ve seen in quite a while.
