The Galaxy skin is one of the most popular, partially from its fantastic design, but also because of the weird way you got it. Galaxy came free from a phone, but wasn’t accessible any other way. The skin was quite rare and has been a bit of a status symbol for Chapter 1 players.

15. Goku

Goku is one of the best Fortnite skins! He’s one of the earlier Fortnite anime skins, and one which has become very popular. The first Dragon ball collab came with four skins and a ton of in-game features too.

Goku specifically got a lot of focus. His transformation emote even lets him cycle through a ton of the most popular transformations for the character. Although, not SSJ3. The hair would probably cause too many problems. Goku was a popular meme pick for Fortnite skins before he got added and he’s still popular today.

14. Hatsune Miku

As soon as Fortnite Festival began to bring in different artists to Fortnite, players began to wait for Miku to make an appearance. It seemed like a perfect fit for the vocaloid! She’s maybe one of the most popular choices to be featured in the Fortnite skins total before Festival began.

So when she was added in a recent season, she was one of the most used outfits. Hatsune Miku in Fortnite is presented with a really impressive polish. It’s a nicely designed skin with a great selection of extra cosmetics and alt style.

Players had to reach a certain level of XP, and then they were even able to buy it! Over time, Renegade Raider went on to become iconic. Then, Epic brought it back.

Suddenly, Renegade Raider went from one of the rarest Fortnite skins ever to just sat in the item shop for everyone to pick up. While it’s most widely used now, Renegade Raider is still absolutely iconic.

Siren is one of the best Fortnite skins, especially for its role in competitive. It’s one of the skins which has become very popular with pro players. While pro players make boring skins iconic, some of them get their own skins eventually! The first of these was Bugha.

The Fortnite player with the highest earnings was also the first to get a skin in-game. Bugha was particularly a focus after his win in the Fortnite World Cup. Bugha’s skin is kind of dull. It’s a very literal skin of the player, not the same level of flair you get elsewhere in the Ixon Series. But as the first-time a pro actually made it in as a skin, Bugha is an important part of Fortnite’s history.

10. Omega

Omega was a particularly early Battle Pass skin, but one that became infamous due to its styles. Omega had super styles which you unlocked by levelling beyond the normal cut-off. That’s normal now, and we all expect it for the whole pass, but in the early season it was still a surprise.

Players had to overlevel to unlock special lights for this and the eyes! Having Omega without the eyes is basically a meme in the Fortnite community now.

9. Meowscles

Meowscles is one of the crew from Chapter 2 Season 2 that’s gone on to be incredibly popular. These characters were in the Pass and the first to make it onto the Fortnite map as Bosses too. Maybe it’s their design, maybe the longevity of the season, but they became iconic.

Meowscles even kick started a trend in Epic’s skin design. Taking an animal’s head and slapping it onto a muscular man’s body. We have a whole family of Meowscles cats in the game now but the original has a big appeal. Especially if you grinded out the solid gold super styles, which is one of the best skins in Fortnite

8. Maya

Maya isn’t the best Fortnite skin in terms of creativity. Coming in Chapter 2, it’s a rare skin which often looks a bit plain, but came from later Fortnite seasons. However, Maya has a rare distinction.

There’s nearly as many versions of her as there are players. This was Fortnite’s first shot at a customizable skin. With so many different varieties, it has millions of different appearances that are possible.

This one is special, even in the best Fortnite skins. It’s a skin that is ever-changing. Players can take the in-built emote of Mystique and use it to transform into different characters.

It’s a completely unique power, and something that’s only ever been included once. You can transform into other skins, including unreleased skins like the in-game henchmen and bosses. It’s been behind a ton of creative meme plays using the disguises. One of the best value Battle Pass skins we’ve seen.

6. Midas

Another Chapter 2 skin that’s become an icon in Fortnite is Midas. A villain skin that had the unique ability to turn things to gold. Your weapon rarity doesn’t change (or cosmetic rarity), but in-game, the models became solid gold.

Midas now has tons of skins. Popping back up for events over the years and getting more lore. We even got a half cat version! Loads of different Midas skins rank as some of the best Fortnite skins to a lot of players.

There’s quite a few original Fortnite characters which have become a major part of the game’s world. Fishsticks is one of these. He’s a fish headed man! Great to play for memes, but also a lot of fun.

This Fortnite skin began a huge trend for the game, the Icon series. Marshmello brought the first real life person into the game. To celebrate an in-game concert. It established Fortnite could cross over in tons of different ways.

Since then, the Icon Series has expanded to cover streamers and more. Real people getting Fortnite skins isn’t as uncommon anymore, we’ve seen some of the biggest streamers in the history of esports make it in the game. But, Marshmellow was the first.

3. Peely

There might be cooler Chapter 1 skins, or ones that are more intimidating in the lobby, but Peely has a special place in Fortnite. The mascot suit banana man has become one of the most recognizable parts of the game. He embraces the fun and whimsy that Fortnite can have. Ultimately, a silly skin really represents the game a lot better than anything else, one of the best Fortnite skins.

2. Superhero Skins

Best Fortnite Skins - Boundless

This one might be controversial. To a lot of the player base, this is a clear sign that a player is a try hard. But it’s hard to doubt its impact.

Epic added Superhero skins with customization options in Chapter 2. Letting players design their own heroes. But they allowed players to make block single color skins. Likely an oversight. Perfect for players who want to blend into their surroundings and have a very plain skin.

The Superhero skins eventually had their colors restricted to cut out the hard to see ones. But players still use block grey and white pretty much constantly though. It’s one of the most popular and best Fortnite skins. Not to mention still a huge sweat skin, and ever present in lobbies.

1. Jonesy

Best Fortnite Skins - Agent Jones

If we’re picking an absolute best skin in Fortnite. it might have to be Jonesy. The protagonist of Fortnite.

When the game first launched, defaults were all most players used. These were essentially blank states. However, players started to attach meaning and personality to these blank slates. One of the most important is Jonesy.

He was the male blonde default, one seen on a lot of the art launching Fortnite. Jonesy went on to become much more important though. He went from a default, to a proper character. In Fortnite lore and live events we started to see an increasing relevance for Jonesy. We got Agent Jonesy, Scuba Jonesy, Bunker Jonesy. He’s got more looks than a Ken doll. At one point, there was even a whole landing spot habituated by different versions of him.

In Chapter 6, he’s still relevant. Along with Hope, Jonesy is the current protagonist of Fortnite and he’s been relevant for six different Chapters now. If you had to pick the top one out of the best Fortnite skins, it’s difficult to argue with Jonesy.
