At just about the metaphorical stroke of midnight, the Paris Legion have announced its starting roster for the 2021 Call of Duty League season. The Legion reload with an entirely new lineup compared to their group from last year; Matthew “Skrapz” Marshall, Ulysses “AquA” Silva, Nicholas “Classic” DiCostanzo, and Luis “Fire” Rivera.

Skrapz joins after spending season one as part of a dynamic duo with his twin brother Bradley “wuskin” Marshall on the London Royal Ravens. London finished the 2020 regular season in the middle of the pack, but made a nice run at Champs that ended in a fourth place finish. Skrapz and his brother were a big reason for that. Many were shocked to see the twins, who are from the UK, not stay with London, and wuskin has still yet to be signed.
Classic joins from Toronto Ultra, who had him benched for over three weeks in the middle of last year’s season. Despite the plethora of shuffling on that team, he ended up back with the starters in time for Champs, where they finished sixth after being eliminated by his now teammate in Skrapz. Ultra fielded a large roster in their inaugural season, and Classic joined most of the bench players and fellow starter Loony (now with Seattle) in leaving this offseason.
AquA joins the Legion after a disappointing season one campaign with the Los Angeles Guerillas. LAG finished at the bottom in both the regular season and at Champs, and only decided to retain Vivid heading into season two. AquA is a hybrid player capable of great plays with both the SMG and the AR, and will provide the Legion a lot of versatility during season two.
Fire is certainly the biggest unknown of the Legion roster: an 18-year-old who made big waves in Challengers last year playing for GetBusy and Five Star, among other amateur squads. But Fire certainly didn’t look like an amateur; he finished second at the New York Open, first at the Toronto Open, and took home the bronze at the NA Challengers Finals. He’s a talented SMG player who was ranked #8 of all Challenger players by The Breaking Point team, and while this is a big step up for him, his talent and potential are unquestionable.
In September, Paris Legion announced the full release of its roster. The team had a rough time during the inaugural Call of Duty season and finished in tenth place. They made it to the second elimination round during playoffs after defeating the Seattle Surge, but they were ultimately sent home by their European rivals, the London Royal Ravens.
With Paris’ announcement, all 12 CDL teams now officially field a starting roster. 2020 Rostermania is officially over, right on the final day of the year, and now fans can only sit and wait for the season to start.
