The Call of Duty League has announced that all scheduled matches will switch to an online format effectively immediately.

The coronavirus has impacted almost every major esports league and countless events. The Overwatch League canceled all homestand events through April, and the LEC and LCS both canceled audience attendance. The CDL has followed suit and canceled all live events in favor of online-only competitions.
The first homestand impacted is the Dallas Empire home series on March 28th and 29th. The owner of the Empire Mike Rufail still promises an exciting online experience:
“The Call of Duty Esports scene was born online, and we’re ready to show our fans in North Texas and around the world that we can put on an incredible show no matter where we’re playing it,” said Rufail. “While we’re disappointed to be canceling our live event, I have no doubt that we will still deliver an unforgettable season.”
The Call of Duty League will return the inclusion of live audiences as soon as possible. The new dates for the broadcasts will be announced soon along with where to watch. The safety of staff, players, and fans is the number one priority of the CDL, and this change will help combat the spread of the coronavirus.
