Our Favourite Cards from Hearthstone March of the Lich King

Luna Meschiari

Hearthstone’s 22nd expansion, March of the Lich King, introduces 145 new cards, and there are plenty of interesting ones. Another addition here is the new class, the game’s 11th and only the second post-launch class, the Death Knight. Between the new cards and the new class, brand new possibilities have been opened up. Without further ado, let us dive into five of the more interesting cards in the set!

Astalor Bloodsworn

Astalor Bloodsworn is a neutral 2 cost legendary minion. Its battlecry is that it adds Astalor, the Protector to your hand. Not only that, but it also has Manathirst, which is March of the Lich King’s new mechanic. If you have reached enough Mana, you will also be able to deal 2 damage to any target. Brann Bronzebeard is a good one to pair it with, as then you get two copies of Astalor, the Protector, or, if playing that card, two copies of Astalor, the Flamebringer.

Frostwyrm’s Fury

This card is an epic Death Knight spell that is featured in the Path of Arthas set releasing alongside March of the Lich King. It has a cost of 7, which admittedly is pretty high, but it is definitely worth it due to how powerful it is. It uses all of your Rune slots, but fear not as you can use Frostwyrm’s Fury to demolish your opposition. It does 5 damage, freezes your opponent’s minions, and also summons a 5/5 Frostwyrm.

Nerubian Vizier

Nerubian Vizier is a common 3 cost neutral minion card. Undead deck users will love this card, but other people might consider using it too. Nerubian Vizier allows you to discover a spell. However, if you manage to do it when a friendly Undead has died after your last turn, the cost of that spell is reduced by 2. People will probably be using this card in both aggressive and control decks, and we can’t fault them for it.

Hawkstrider Rancher

Hawkstrider Rancher is an epic 2 cost neutral minion card that we can already see a lot of people playing. Any minions that you play while it is on the battlefield will be buffed, gaining +1/+1 and a Deathrattle that can summon a 1/1 Hawkstrider. Did we mention that Hawkstrider Rancher also has 5 health? Solid overall stats for its cost, wouldn’t you agree?

Arms Dealer

Arms Dealer is a great fit for Death Knight decks, especially aggressive ones. It is a common 1 cost neutral undead minion card that gives any Undead minion you summon while it is on the battlefield +1 attack. Arms Dealer might not be the flashiest card here, but even the flashiest cards can’t win by themselves.

We have gotten a ton of new and interesting cards with March of the Lich King, and these are just some that are worth looking into if they suit your playstyle. If not, there is a wide array of cards to choose from to optimise your play in the best way possible. The game is feeling fresh again due to all the new stuff they have added, especially with the new class.
