Hearthstone’s Murder at Castle Nathria expansion is one of the most interesting ones to date. Now, we get to see how pros use all of the new cards and strategies as part of the prestigious Masters Tour. Hearthstone Masters Tour: Murder at Castle Nathria will begin on Friday, August 12th, and will go on until Sunday, August 14th. Players will compete for a prize pool of $250,000 and a seed in the Masters Fall Championship 2022.

The tournament will feature 400 players that hail from over 40 different countries. Live broadcasts and streams will start every day at 11 AM EST, and you will be able to watch it on Hearthstone’s YouTube channel. This Masters Tour is the fifth one of the year and it’s shaping up to be an incredible one. If you link your Battle.net and YouTube accounts, you will also be able to get free card packs by just watching the tournament!
Hearthstone Masters Tour: Murder at Castle Nathria Format and Schedule
The Masters will start off with eight rounds of Swiss brackets through the first two days, four rounds per day. When day three arrives, whichever 16 players have managed to avoid elimination will have face off in single-elimination brackets. It’s going to be an action-packed Sunday as we will get to see round of 16, top eight, semifinals, and finals in one day.
Hearthstone Masters Tour: Murder at Castle Nathria will be played in Conquest format. Each player will bring a deck from four of Hearthstone’s classes, with the ability to ban one of their opponent’s decks during their matchup. Matches will be contested under best-of-5 rules.
New Card Type and Keyword
The new expansion brought us some new stuff to play around with in the form of a new type of card and a new keyword.
The new card type, Locations, are played for an initial cost, after which they can be activated for free on its controller’s turn. Activating the Location’s ability costs one durability, and the ability also has a cooldown period. Your opponents cannot interact with the card, even though it’s on the board, unless they have a card that specifically targets it.
A new keyword, Infuse, was also introduced in Murder at Castle Nathria. Cards that have the new keyword will be able to transform into a more powerful version once the required amount of minions are sacrificed with the card in your hand.
How to Earn Free Packs During Hearthstone Masters Tour: Murder at Castle Nathria
During the Murder at Castle Nathria Masters Tour, spectators lwill be able to acquire two card packs. You become eligible for one by watching the tournament for two hours, and the second by watching for two additional hours. One thing to note here is that the hours can be watched through the entirety of the Masters Tour event; it doesn’t have to be continuous.
In order to even receive the packs, you will have to connect your Blizzard Battle.net account with your Youtube one. You can do this by going to Account Sharing under Connected Apps in Settings, then selecting Connect next to Battle.net.
You will get a prompt that is going to lead you through how to finalise the connection between the two accounts. While doing all of this, make sure you are logged in to the appropriate Battle.net account on which you want to receive the goodies.
The fifth Masters Tour of 2022 is shaping up to be incredible and well worth watching. Murder at Castle Nathria is a great expansion in itself, so we expect nothing less out of the Masters. Considering the fact that around 400 people will be competing, unexpected twists and thrilling comebacks are all but guaranteed.
There will be one more Masters Tour stop remaining after Murder at Castle Nathria, with the Masters Fall Championship happening from October 7th to October 9th in Europe.
