The new Fortnite Simpsons mini season is here! After a brief live event where we watched an animation of Simpsons coming into Fortnite, downtime has begun. A few hours before we can jump into the new map, but Epic has posted the patch notes with all the key changes! It’s going to be a very different season.
There are the big ones too. There’s a brand-new map! A whole map that’s apparently only here for a month. Plus, there’s even been a change to core Battle Royale for the first time. But plenty of smaller changes too. This is everything that’s been mixed up with the Fortnite Simpsons mini season:

There’s a new Fortnite Simpsons Battle Pass! This was one area where we already knew what was coming. The entire Fortnite Simpsons Battle Pass leaked ahead of time. These are the skins that are in the pass this week:
Of course, there’s other items in the Battle Pass. Including a new Fortnite pet! It’s the first one and it should unlock for players in this pass. There are also alternative styles for the characters featured. Which are pulling from various other looks Homer, Marge, and Ned have had in the past.

One particularly interesting part of the season is the promotional content coming from Epic and the Simpsons. There’s going to be special shorts broadcast every week! These are the animated shorts coming:
We don’t have the clearest idea of these. But they will probably be in the same vein as the short played after the live event. More content about Homer’s adventures now he has a Zero Point remote.
There’s a batch of new Twitch drops coming! These will be available until November 15th, including the Kang and Kodos glider that we’ve seen so much of in the live event. Along with a wrap of the Simpsons opening sequence. They won’t be earnable until the game is back up and running. As a new Fortnite mini season, we’ll probably see a lot of Twitch streams. So just take your pick from the Fortnite streamers to unlock these.

There are some tournaments coming for the Fortnite Simpsons mini season! These are going to be regular Victory Cups, a slightly different Fortnite tournament format. These will get their dates announced once the season is live. They’re tournaments that have a first round. Then, the top placing players make Round 2. In the second round you get cash for each Victory Royale. But not for anything else.
The new map is obviously the biggest mystery. From the initial reveals, it’s clearly a full Simpsons map. With loads of POIs and Easter Eggs from the show. It is a smaller map than normal too. Which has meant we’ve seen a format change in Battle Royale for the first time.
Epic has experimented with other types of Fortnite game over the years, with a ton of smaller Royales lately. However, Battle Royale, the core mode, has always stayed at 100. That’s changing.
For the Fortnite Simpsons mini season, we’re only getting 80 players on the map! There won’t be a full 100 this season. It’s unknown if the normal bot count will still be active, which could mean that dropping 20 players won’t actually make a major difference. It’s fun to see some changes in Battle Royale though.

There is a major change coming to the storm in Fortnite this season! Instead of the normal electric purple storm, it’s changing to be a donut storm. A nice bit of theming. It won’t have a major impact to gameplay though. Unlike the ocean storm, we briefly got, this seems to be an entirely cosmetic change.
The other big mystery has been the weapons that’ll be in use for Fortnite Simpsons mini season. Weapons aren’t going to be all Simpsons themed. Instead, it’s a collection of older and beloved Fortnite weapons from the game’s history. It’s a close enough balance to seasons like Remix. We’ve got the Tactical Shotgun, standard AR. Plenty of items long time players will remember.
Along with the Battle Pass there is quite a bit more coming to the item shop. this will include Krusty the Klown, Moe, and others. We’ll have to see what else is in store over the coming month though.
