When is the next Fortnite season? The game is in Chapter 7 but it’s gotten a little stale. With all the problems, a lot of people are eagerly awaiting a new season. But the next Fortnite update probably won’t be the new season. We do still have a little while to wait. But when is the next Fortnite season?

Chapter 7 Season 1 has been running since the end of November. It’s already January, and a new Fortnite season is nowhere in sight. Epic has kept things active, but pretty much by introducing collab after collab after collab. But ads don’t quite count as new content. From the initial leaks we do have a good idea of what’s coming with the next Fortnite season. Like the theme that’ll dominate the season. This is what’s coming:

When is the Next Fortnite Season?

The next Fortnite season is going to be coming in March. Chapter 7 Season 1 has been running for months already so it’s on the longer side. Not quite as much as the longest Fortnite seasons, but lengthier. It has gotten a little dull. But a new season should be a major new start.

The current season has had two small events to keep players distracted. There’s been Winterfest, then a collab event with South Park. But increasingly it feels like the core content is an afterthought. Tons of bugs in the game going unfixed. Popular items getting removed and replaced with things that have been bugged since the last time they were in the game. The actual season beneath the collabs just doesn’t seem to be capturing player’s attention. Plus, there’s no FNCS which was has made it a bit duller too.

The next Fortnite season is going to be coming in March though. We’ve got a good idea of the theme too if the older leaks are anything to go by.

Norse Mythology

The biggest change with the next Fortnite season will be theme. Each season has a specific theme. According to leakers, the next one up will be Norse Mythology. We’ve had similar seasons on Greek mythology in the past so this would fit well. Although, it is part of some leaks which got this season wrong.

The same leaks pointed towards a gala theme for the current season Which turned out not to be true. The current season is more about the new map, or Hollywood, or just random collabs? It’s not the most coherent season theme but new map seasons rarley are. There’s clearly no gala happening in the game though.

Norse Mythology would fit with other past seasons, but we’ll have to wait and see what the theme is. The leaks are a bit more in dispute since this season didn’t line up.

What’s Gone Wrong in Chapter 7?

Players have been asking when is the next Fortnite season since the current one hit its second week. it feels like something has gone wrong with Battle Royale, and it’s something Epic developers have tried to address.

On X, multiple Epic employees have asked for bug reports. Ted Timmins, the design director of the game, tweeted:

“Hey folks, we’re stepping up our focus on the live game. We know that as we prepare for the exciting seasons ahead of us the underlying foundations of the game must still be stable.” Others have also asked for bug reports and screenshots on Twitter. There’s already a system for reporting bugs in-game. But this is probably as much about communicating that they’re looking into bug fixes as much as anything else.
