Last March, the Call of Duty League shifted to an online format for the safety of fans, players, and staff. The remainder of the 2020 inaugural season took place online. The beginning of the 2021 season also used an online format.

The league assured fans that the return to LAN would come as soon as possible, and on Thursday, the league announced the Dallas Empire will host the first live event of the season, Major IV.

The Stage IV regular season will take place online and finish with the in-person event in Dallas at the Esports Stadium Arlington. The event will “adhere to strict League health and safety protocols, and attendance will be limited to players in the League as well as limited Call of Duty League and team staff.”All attendees will also participate in Rapid Response testing throughout the event to keep the players and staff safe.

The announcement also included an update for Major III. The next major will switch to a four-day schedule and will start on Thursday instead of Wednesday. The tournament will feature four matches on Thursday and Friday, five on Saturday, and three on Sunday. Each day will end with a Winners Bracket Match.

The CDL did not reveal any other upcoming live events but did confirm that Major IV is the first step in the process. The league will release more details on the future of the Call of Duty League LAN events.

The Call of Duty League Major IV will take place June 17th-20th.
