The rebrand praises the feats that the Dire Wolves has recently achieved. The Dire Wolves’ League of Legends team is seeing success in the Australian League, and the rebrand is designed to flatter those accomplishments. Such feats include their appearance in the Group Stage of Worlds 2018 as one of the Wild Card representatives.

Regarding the change, Dire Wolves Owner, Jason Spiller, said: “This is a totally new era for the Dire Wolves as we continue to evolve into a truly modern, global esports organization, and we need a brand that reflects that shift. We wanted to keep what makes us unique, and focus on the wolf pack aspect, which champions community and inclusivity in everything we do, whilst debuting a fierce, powerful logo that represents our attitude towards performance.”

The rebrand is big news for one of the stronger brands in the Oceanic region. Guinevere Capital, the investors behind the likes of Excel Esports and current partner of Cloud9’s London Spitfire, are contributing to the development of the Oceanic grassroots scene.

This new branding comes a day after the organization expanded its administration as well. Joining the Dire Wolves are Craig Nimmo acting as the company’s new General Manager, while Rich Bryan signs as the Head of Production and William Slingsby joins as the Head of Content. All three have experience working in entertainment, culture and more in the Oceanic region, which is a sign of things to come for the brand.
