Mid laner Tanner “Damonte” Damonte has been released by 100 Thieves. This news comes following 100T’s signing of Felix “Abbedagge” Braun in April.

With the signing of Abbedagge, 100 Thieves had three mid laners on their roster with Damonte and Tommy Ry0ma Le already splitting time as starters on the team.

In a post on his Twitter account, the mid laner said “For the 2021 Summer Split, I was unable to find an LCS team. And alongside of that, I have also made the choice now to not pursue any Academy offers, as well.” The long-time LCS player also explained that he will spend the next six months focusing on content creation.

“I don’t think this is going to be the end to anything with me playing in the LCS,” Damonte explained. “I’ve done the whole process of going from LCS to Academy and then working my way back up to LCS before. And I feel like it would be more beneficial for me after a very very turbulent two years to just take a step back, keep playing solo queue and focus on other stuff that I haven’t really done before.”

100 Thieves have clearly marked their intent to compete right now by signing Abbedagge to play on the squad. Both Damonte and Ry0ma found themselves in the bottom half of the LCS in most statistical categories for mid laners, though it can be argued that 100T never truly the focal point of the team’s playstyle.

Damonte officially joined the LCS in May 2016 when he played for Echo Fox. Since then, the American has bounced around the LCS including time with Clutch Gaming, Golden Guardians and 100 Thieves with several stints in Academy.
