Fortnite live events are some of the most exciting times in the game. It’s the live events where we see the entire player base join together to experience something. The Fortnite live events are a big part of why the game has gotten so popular, bringing something new to live games. How have they grown over the years?
These are all Fortnite live events we’ve seen in the game’s history. From the very first ones through to the Fortnite collab events we get now.

Our very first Fortnite live event at full scale! The Visitor created a rift in the sky by launching a rocket into it. Afterwards, numerous things fell out of the rift into the map. And apparently it moved the Durr Burger head to the real world too.
One of the more innovative Fortnite live events. The rift closed up, but a huge cube dropped instead. It rolled around the map for a little while, giving players something to track. It was nicknamed Kevin. A surprisingly well remembered Fortnite live event.
Eventually the Fortnite cube activated. Leading to this Rift butterfly event. This one did deepen the Fortnite lore too.
The New Years is one of the smaller Fortnite live events, but it happens every year. Essentially, on New Year’s Eve, fireworks go off to mark the beginning of a new year. It would be more shocking Fortnite news if there was a year off the New Years fireworks now, but it was novel the first time.

The first time a boss was a part of Fortnite live events, kind of. The ice king woke up and ice spread all around the map.
Next is the Marshmello concert. This was the first of the Fortnite live events focused on music, a concert from Marshmello. This event led to more concerts and eventually a whole music mode.

The volcano emerges and causes earthquakes. A lot of these early Fortnite live events had a bigger impact on the map, bringing in new features.
This live event was something different. Players got transported to a special area. Where they could vote on a Fortnite weapon to make a return to the game.

Maybe the biggest Fortnite live event so far. This was a fight between the Mecha Team Leader and a giant monster!
The Zero Point becomes unstable! At this point the storyline was getting quite a bit more complex and we largely saw it advanced through the Fortnite live events.
The Fortnite live event that finished it off, and started something new. A big story event which climaxed the Zero Point lore so far. Culminating in a black hole screen replacing the game for quite a while. Maybe the biggest moment in Fortnite.

This is one of the stranger Fortnite live events. We saw a brief Star Wars teaser before a speech from the Emperor. It turned out to be important for the upcoming movie. One of the stranger ones, but it’s the first Fortnite collab live event.
A 2020 re-do of New Years, the same event but with the year changed.

The next of the Fortnite live events was another concert, Astronomical. This featured Travis Scott! It was a fun event for fans. Over time, Travis Scott has become less enthusiastic about his link to Fortnite. His skin is now one of the rarest Fortnite skins since he won’t give permission for it to return.
Finally, we got our first story event of Chapter 2. This one saw Midas try to escape the loop, and instead flood the island.
At the end of the Marvel Fortnite season, this event had players take charge of flying battle Buses and take on a trench run down a giant’s body. One of the most involved live events for gameplay.
Once again, a New Years’ Fortnite live event. Same kind of thing as last year, but for 2021.
Next season, the Zero Point became destabilized! It would be wrapped up in the opening of the next season.

To finish off the Zero Point’s progress, we got a solo live event for the first time. This was a story event we played through once the season began. It was something different, but Fortnite live events have stayed online since.
The next Fortnite season was alien invasion themed! It saw the Mothership descend and start abducting buildings.
This is where the Fortnite live events made a change. Moving concerts from the main game to being a separate mode you booted into. It was a whole concert for Ariana Grande.
At the end of the season, Doctor Sloane lead an attack on the mothership. This one progressed the story with the Imagined Order in Fortnite too.
For the close of Chapter 2, we got another Fortnite live event. This time the map flipped over revealing a new island below! It shared a name with the last Chapter closer but was quite different. Even featuring the Rock in a role that would roll over to next season.

This one isn’t quite a new Fortnite live event. It was more the story intro to the game’s new season.
The next Fortnite live event was another New Years one. Same fireworks, new year.
The next event reran some old favorites, like the Mecha Team Leader. But with a new twist as the Seven’s storyline carried on.
The only other proper Fortnite live event in Chapter 3 was Fracture. It finished off the Chapter. The chrome took over, and players did some mini games before seeing the new island from afar. This wasn’t a great event.

The first of the Fortnite live events, it was the new years’ fireworks.
The only other live event was to finish Chapter 4. This time, players saw elements of Chapter 1’s live events as they time travelled, before a big explosion, and teasers for upcoming modes.

In Chapter 5, we got more frequent live events. But the scope was smaller. The first was Pandora’s Box. In this one, a hand popped up and dropped the box. Later in the week it opened. Transforming the world for the next Fortnite season focused on Greek Myths.
The box again opened, after being hit by Zeus’ lightning, then a sandstorm created the desert that dominated Chapter 5 Season 3
Megalo Don, a boss on the map for this season, was defeated! His pipeline exploded. That was about it, before a teaser for Doctor Doom appeared for some reason.
A mid-season event. A giant Doom appeared and players had to fight him. It was the first actually interactable event in quite a while! Once defeated he rifted away.
To end Chapter 5, players gathered in Reels to watch a live concert from New York.

To end Remix, we got a concert style event with performances from all the Remix artists. Then Jonesy and Hope walked through a portal to the new island! Not the most plot from Fortnite live events, but it moved us on.
For a Christmas event, Mariah Carey defrosted from the ice and sang All I Want for Christmas is You.
Once again, we got the New Years fireworks! This time a Disco ball too.
To finish off the first season, Daigo transformed into a bigger version of himself and fought the Shogun X boss who had been on the rift-in island for most of the season.
Players enter the Death Star and fight off Palpatine! It also had a fun dogfight mini game in the waiting room for it to start.

To celebrate the release of Daft Punk skins, we got this huge concert. It was quite a long set list, with an area to watch the experience. Along with a bunch of mini games to engage with too. This was one of the bigger Fortnite live events in quite a while.

Finally, we’ve got the most recent, the Simpsons Fortnite live event.
Those are all of the Fortnite live events to date. They’ve been pretty frequent lately. So, in the future we’ll like see even more join this list. Keep an eye on Fortnite updates to see where it’s going in the future.
And stay up to date on all the latest trends in esports
