FLASHPOINT to Play Exclusively in Los Angeles

Zakaria Almughrabi

In response to the global Coronavirus outbreak, FlashPoint has made the decision to host the entirety of their league’s inaugural season in the FACEIT Los Angeles Studio. This includes the cancellation of their LAN based playoffs event planned in Stockholm, Sweden.

Countless esports tournaments and leagues have been affected so far, FlashPoint only being the newest addition. Unfortunately for Counter-Strike: Global Offensive fans, the worldwide nature of the scene lends itself to these decisions readily. IEM Katowice, the biggest event of the year so far, was marred by COVID19 controversy.

FlashPoint is set to begin on March 13th. Nine of the twelve teams are known, with Team Envy being the newest Founding Member. The participants will be making their trip to Los Angeles shortly. Hopefully the players and staff stay safe while delivering quality CS:GO action, even if the fans can’t be there in person.
