FGC means the Fighting Game Community. A passionate fanbase can be found for seemingly every fighting game that gets released. The FGC can trace its heritage all the way back to the arcades of the early 1990s and the explosion of Street Fighter II and Mortal Kombat. Though there are plenty of tournaments for all the titles you could name, it was the introduction of the Evolution Championship Series, which would eventually be called Evo, that brought everyone in the community together.
