Why the AOC 34” Curved Gaming Monitor Stands Out

This monitor looks sleek and beautiful and would complement any PC gaming setup, provided you have the space. The AOC 34” Curved Gaming Monitor boasts the same high performance as monitors in its category without the hefty price tag.

First Impression of the AOC CU34G2X Curved Gaming Monitor

The matte black with subtle red accents presents a very sleek appearance for the ultra-wide 34in gaming monitor. It doesn’t look like a “gaming” monitor, but a monitor for a grown-up aesthetic setup, which I love.

The AOC CU34G2X has generous height adjustment along with left-right-, and up-down tilt capabilities. The monitor itself is relatively thin save for the curvature. However, the stand attachment takes up a few inches of space. Also, the stand’s footprints take up a lot of space.

While the colors aren’t as brilliant as I’d like, it likely wouldn’t be a noticeable issue. And still, games looked amazing and seemed to be adaptive, even though it’s not officially certified by AMD or NVIDIA.

When reviewing games, I like to have the game open on my main monitor and my work open on my second monitor. The AOC gaming monitor allows for multitasking on one screen with their Screen+ software. Unfortunately, the game at half the curvature wasn’t very appealing to me. Without the game, however, the Screen+ software made multitasking seamless.

One thing that disappointed me, however, is that this monitor has no built in speakers. You will need desktop speakers or headphones.

Final Thoughts

The AOC Curved Gaming Monitor is a pretty decent choice for a gaming monitor. It’s affordable, it looks good, it performs well. You can’t really go wrong here. Just make sure you have the desk space.
