First Impression of the Razer Viper Ultimate
The Viper Ultimate fits very nicely in my hands. It’s flatter than other Razer mice—very low hump. So, this mouse is great for small to medium-sized hands. I’m used to the Razer Naga Trinity for MMOs, and the Naga has a huge hump for the extra buttons. But it’s still comfortable.
The Viper Ultimate, however, felt much more natural. And the way this mouse just glides ever so smoothly across both mouse pad and bare desk surface *chef’s kiss*.
The Viper Ultimate is built with a very sturdy plastic and is fairly lightweight. It’s designed very well, sturdy and sleek with 8 programmable buttons. This mouse has your typical 6-button layout with two buttons on both the left side and the right side. This makes for a true, ambidextrous gaming mouse.
Like other Razer peripherals, this wireless gaming mouse includes the Razer Chroma RGB logo on the body. However, there’s no RGB on the mouse wheel.
Fast, Wireless, and Accurate
The Viper Ultimate comes equipped with Razer’s HyperSpeed Wireless to provide the performance of a wired gaming mouse. The HyperSpeed Wireless technology boasts 25% faster transmission and the lowest click-latency.
The Viper Ultimate also includes the new and improved Focus+ Optical Sensor. CPI/DPI goes up to 20k, which is offers a massive range. However, most competitive FPS players usually reduce their DPI for better control.
I tested both wired and wireless, with several games: Overwatch, Elder Scrolls Online, New World, and DEATHLOOP. There was literally no difference in response between wired and wireless connectivity.
My clicks and shots in Overwatch and DEATHLOOP were literally on point. Healing and dealing damage in MMOs were precise, with no lag. And honestly, I liked the Viper Ultimate a bit more than my Razer Naga Trinity.
Final Thoughts on Razer Viper Ultimate
The Viper Ultimate is an exceptional, wireless gaming mouse. It’s really on par with, if not better than, a lot of the wired gaming mice on the market. Though I’m right-handed, this may be the best ambidextrous gaming mouse right now. Though, I would not recommend it to gamers with large hands.
