Worlds 2022 – Schedule, Scores, Results for the League of Legends World Championship
Worlds 2022, the biggest League of Legends tournament of the year, begins on September 29. Teams from all over the globe have spent the entire season fighting for a chance to play on this stage. Over the next six weeks, 24 teams will fight for a chance at the greatest accomplishment in League: hoisting the Summoners’ Cup. With so much going on over the next month and a half, it can be tricky for the average viewer to keep up. Here is everything you need to know to navigate Worlds 2022.

Worlds 2022 Schedule and Format
Worlds is divided into three stages: Play-Ins, Groups, and Knockouts.
The Play-In Stage begins on September 29 and lasts until October 4. Here, 12 teams will be separated into two groups of six. These groups will play a single round robin of best-of-one matches. The team with the best record from each group advances directly to the Group Stage. The second through fourth place teams per group will then play a knockout bracket of best-of-five matches. Only the winner of each final match will advance and fill the final two Group Stage slots.
The Group Stage runs from October 7 to 16 with matches starting at 5:00pm ET for days one through four and 3:00pm ET for days five through eight. This stage features the top 16 teams in the world split into four equal groups. Each group will play a double round robin over the eight days with the top two teams per group advancing to the knockout stage. All matches will be best-of-one.
The Knockout Stage begins on October 20 to 23 with the Quarterfinals. The top eight teams will be cut down to four for the Semifinals on October 29 to 30. One best-of-five match will be played per day at 5:00pm ET. Lastly, the Finals will take place on November 5 at 8:00pm ET.
