The Fortnite Esports World Cup event is returning this year, after missing 2025. This time it’ll be bigger than ever, with the dedicated Fortnite Reload Elite Series running. We’ve already seen a decent few names making the Fortnite Esports World Cup players list and qualifying for their slot. It takes a bit of a different skillset to Battle Royale though.

The FNCS runs year-round, in Battle Royale, but the Esports World Cup event is a bit different. Instead of sticking with Battle Royale it’s part of a big push to bring Fortnite Esports to Reload. Concluding with a major LAN alongside every other huge esports title.
This is a new strand for competitive Fortnite, based around the Reload mode. It’s the game where players get a second chance after death. It’s proven to be faster paced, with an emphasis on action. A big departure from the surge trading meta that dominated the FNCS last year. The Elite Reload Series players have had to qualify in a unique way too. Some of the most well-known players have already secured their spots.
The Fortnite Reload Elite Series has had most of the best Fortnite players sign up. but the way you qualify is a little more complicated. Players really have to excel to make the finals. These are the Fortnite Reload Elite Series players who have gotten over the line now:

The next qualifier is taking place on March 1st! Since the top-ranking players have already got their spots locked, we could see some drop down this week. Another batch from each Fortnite server region will be added for the remaining qualifiers.
There will be two more dates after this where competitors can make the list of Fortnite Esports World Cup players. These are the remaining qualifier dates if you want to follow along:
These qualifiers will stretch past the current Fortnite season end date. Reload won’t receive too many major changes at the end of the season though. Things shouldn’t really change between Qualifier 1 and 4 outside of Reload loot pool alterations.

The Reload Elite Series Players have already seen big alterations like the Morphite weapons being removed. The current loot pool is definitely more set up for competitive play though. With the qualifiers now happening monthly, we could see the game’s loot pool to bounce around a bit more. With a more casual friendly set of items during off-months, before returning to the competitive loot pool we’ve seen before for the qualifiers.
We’ve already seen a lot of change for the way storm works in Reload. Big changes could be coming still.
The finale of the Fortnite Reload Elite series will be the Esports World Cup tournament, but this will effect the qualifiers too. The EWC Club Championship component will mean the Fortnite Reload Elite Series players might have to change their teams.
Essentially, coming in high at the EWC event will mean more than just that individual game’s prize pool for orgs. It’s also a major contributor to the org’s standings across the Esports World Cup’s bigger event. Reload Elite Series players will be competing for their org overall, not just their own results.

Some Fortnite heavy orgs like Team Falcons performed well at the Club Championship last year. This could limit player’s Duos partners.
Normally, Fortnite players’ orgs just don’t matter all that much. The last LAN saw fans of a French org boo US players who weren’t affiliated with them, but teams were made up of players across orgs. No one really limits themselves to their org team mates alone as a Duos partner. But to count on the Club Championship standings, the team needs to be two players on a single org alone for the Reload Elite Series.
This has already meant some changing around. We’ve seen players join with different Duos to normal, or players switching up their orgs just for this tournament. This could mean Fortnite Esports World Cup players perform quite differently compared to the normal game. Keep this in mind with the Duos listed as qualifier. Some of them aren’t going to be performing in their normal FNCS teams.
