When does Fortnite Chapter 7 start? The game is about to receive an enormous change. New map, new weapons, it’s going to be all new. We’re even due to get a major change to the storm in Fortnite Chapter 7. When does it all release though?

When Does Fortnite Chapter 7 Start?

We’re getting really close to the Fortnite Chapter 7 release date. Now we’ve had an initial reveal of content like the Battle Pass skins. Leaks of a ton of major Fortnite mechanics. And even free skins that are coming. We know a lot about what to expect once the Fortnite Chapter 7 start date rolls around. When can we expect this big feature to hit?

When Does Fortnite Chapter 7 Start?

Fortnite Chapter 7’s release date is locked in! We’ve had a firm date since Epic first announced when the Simpsons mini season would end. With a live event coming first, we’ll have a solid idea of downtime too. The Fortnite Chapter 7 release date is on November 29th.

If you want to get a bit more specific though, it’s coming after 2 PM ET. That’s when the Fortnite Zero Hour event will happen. It’ll probably take less than half an hour for the live event to actually play out. Once that’s done the game goes into downtime. It’ll be a few hours. Then it’ll be back up as Fortnite Chapter 7! That’s when the season begins properly.

Sometimes there can be problems with a new season’s update. It can get delayed. That once happened for a full day. Another common problem is queues. Sometimes players will be stuck in these for a little while for the first day of a new season. This might not be avoidable on the Fortnite Chapter 7 release date, but it will calm down.

The Fortnite Chapter 7 start date is now locked in, but how much do we actually know about the new season? It seems, quite a bit. Epic has already made a ton of information public. As well as hosting a private event for some content creators, making everyone sign NDAs.

Then it got leaked anyway, so we’ve had a clear look at everything coming in the Fortnite Chapter 7 release date. Much like the Fortnite roadmap leak that derailed Chapter 5, we’ve had a ton of early information about Fortnite Chapter 7.

Fortnite Chapter 7 Gameplay Features

The Fortnite Chapter 7 start date will see the big reveal of all the new gameplay features. But thanks to leakers we have some solid ideas about what’s coming next already. Some of the most exciting are the new gameplay features, they’re always a step up for new Chapters. The last Chapter release added more movement mechanics… which didn’t go great and were removed. Hopefully, the new gameplay features will be stronger this time. These are the features we’ve seen in early leaks:

  • Storm – The storm will switch to be different shapes from now on, not always circles. This is something that’s been talked about a lot already.
  • Surfing – A feature that’s been in trailers for years now, might finally arrive.
  • Simple Building – a feature to make building easier, the equivalent of simple edits.
  • Driveable Reboot Vans – You can move the reboot van to revive in a better spot.
  • Self-Revive – A feature to let players res themselves. It’s not clear how this one is going to work.
  • Play as a Boss – An unknown new feature, seemingly players can be the boss on a map instead of a normal player.
  • Flying – New movement items.
  • Gambler Shotgun – An unknown weapon which will seemingly introduce some kind of RNG to taking a shotgun shot.

Those are the biggest ones we’re expecting at the Fortnite Chapter 7 start date. There’s been others, but leakers can often make a lot out of a smaller bit of information. Some like the Bots playlist have since been debunked… and leakers are still claiming they’re right around the corner. So, we’ll have to wait and see what’s actually in the game. Features like the Gambler Shotgun could be the best and worst Fortnite weapons depending on the RNG.

More Collabs Coming in Fortnite Chapter 7

What else is coming at the Fortnite Chapter 7 release date? We’ve still got a little while to go before the season ends, but there’s already a ton of different collabs which have been leaked. These are some that we’re expecting in the coming season:

  • Lisa – Festival season
  • Kill Bill – Free skin and another in the Battle Pass
  • Ninjago – A Lego collaboration
  • South Park – Unknown new crossover
  • Harry Potter – Controversial one, but has been rumoured for a month now
  • Back to the Future – Confirmed for the Battle Pass
  • Paramount – Apparently a bunch of their Ips will be sidekicks
  • Hatsune Miku – New Miku skin coming this Winterfest according to leakers
  • Arcane Return – Leakers are claiming this based on a jam track, it doesn’t seem likely though after the Riot CEO said they were gone for good.

Alongside these, we’ll probably get even more Fortnite Marvel skins. Nothing seems to stop that. And we know new modes are coming like the Star Wars one. Despite its dedicated season kicking off a 6-month slump for BR earlier in the year. We probably won’t see that in the Fortnite Chapter 7 release date though, just a bit further down the line.
