What’s changed with the recent Fortnite South Park update? This is our first major update to the game since Winterfest began. Now the presents are gone, and the game is heading back to normal. It isn’t an update focused solely on the event ending and fixing some things though. The new Fortnite South Park update is introducing quite a lot of new content too.
The game is currently in Chapter 7 Season 1, which is running through till March. it’s one of the longer Fortnite seasons, so these mid-season updates are even more important to keep the game fresh. it’s a fairly major one this time. With the new collab introducing new items, a different POI on the map, and more. But we’ve also had some changes to existing content. Some of the biggest bugs have been fixed. This is what’s changed this time:
The biggest part of the new patch notes isn’t just Winterfest leaving or, but the Fortnite South Park update. This is a new Fortnite collab, but there’s more coming than just skins. Players can progress through a new pass, and find new items in Battle Royale. There’s been a lot of changes to the game. This is what’s been added:

Even if you’re not collecting the skins in the item shop, players can unlock a handful of Fortnite South Park items in this update. There’s a new free pass in the game, Born in Chaos. unlike past event passes, this one is only available as a free tier item. You can’t get a paid version. It doesn’t contain a skin, but there are a few prizes here for players.
You can unlock 13 different items like a Terrance and Phillip backbling.
Cosmetics are fun but there’s also been some gameplay changes with the Fortnite South Park update. Players can find a handful of new items in the game, some of which are pretty game changing.

A new mythic item. It’s a Rift Anomaly, so it won’t happen every game. You’ll get a warning once it does appear though. It gives you control over the storm.

We’ve got a new healing item this time with the Cheesy Poofs. There are loads of meds in the loot pool but these will be a nice novelty.

This might be the biggest item in Solos for the Fortnite South Park update, Kenny’s Respawn token essentially fiunctions as an extra life. Players can die holding this and respawn in. it works like respawns in Reload. You lose your loot, but get another chance at the game. This could prove to be a disruptive addition in the Fortnite weapons and items during the collab.
Another major change in the Fortnite South Park update is the Cartmanland POI. It’s replacing the Wonkeeland POI on the map. It’s switching one theme park for another. But this will mean that Wonkeeland has proven one of the shortest running POIs we’ve seen lately.
The biggest part of the Fortnite South Park update is the Item Shop skins. There are new skins of the main four South park boys along with Butters. Each is in a mech, which is pretty common for skins now. You can get all of them for 4,000 V-Bucks. There’s also a new Fortnite sidekick. Towlie is coming as a sidekick, he’ll be 1,500 V-Bucks.

One change which is coming back to this mode is to the skybox. The lighting in the sky is hanging back to what was used originally. It’ll be closer to older Fortnite seasons once again.
While Chapter 7 hasn’t been around very long, it has had quite a few bugs built up. A good number of these have been fixed finally in the Fortnite South Park update, after being around all over Winterfest. The first is vehicle health bars.
When we got a new UI for C7, for some reason it completely omitted the health bar for vehicles. it was a mystery when it was going to explode on you. It’s been put back now. Self-revive also now has its prompts display immediately, before it was kind of hit or miss.
Those are the big bug fixes. We’ve had a few smaller ones over the last few days too. Like the XP bug in Respawn Rumble getting removed. This was around for a few hours after discovery, but some players were able to grind out a lot of levels in that time! There’s always XP maps to grind through too.
Those are all of the major changes that have come in the South Park Fortnite update. The big ones really just deal with the South Park additions. it’s skins and a couple of different collab items which should shake up Battle Royale. These items have potential to be quite creative though, adding things like respawns into Battle Royale.
