One of the net big additions to the Fortnite Icon Series has been unveiled. A Kizuna Ai Fortnite skin is coming soon! It’ll be our first V-Tuber skin to come to the game. This skin will be part of the Fortnite Festival series, although, it doesn’t look like they’ll be the headline artist. The whole collab has been announced, alongside a cup that’s running for players to win the items.
With the official announcement made, we’ve got a good idea of the Kizuna AI Fortnite skin and other cosmetics that are coming. It’ll be a full loadout, with items for Festival or Battle Royale.
The new collab brings one of the earliest modern V-Tubers into the game. This could be the start of a huge category for future Fortnite cosmetics! There are tons of V-Tubers we could see featured in the future. This is a fun Fortnite collab too, with a couple of different skins coming later in the week. This is how the collaboration will work:
The whole collab is coming with a couple of extra items. We’re expecting the normal locker items but also Jam Tracks. The big item is clearly the skins. There’s the primary Kizuna Ai Fortnite skin coming. But also a secondary style, where she’s wearing a sports jump suit instead. Something a bit more casual.
There’s also emotes, which show the character dancing in front of hearts. Plus, a backbling which is a chibi version of Kizuna Ai. the whole set is probably going to be available as a bundle. But we don’t know the price yet, until it hits the Fortnite item shop it won’t be clear.
These are each of the items and the Kizuna Ai Fortnite skin we’ve seen so far:

Those are all of the items. The Jam Tracks haven’t been showcased yet, but we have a good idea about how the cosmetics. The skin is using the older outfit for the V-Tuber, but one that’s better remembered by older fans.
The Kizuna Ai Fortnite skin will be a fun addition, but when is it coming to the game? We’ve had the release date announced already. This isn’t one of those leaks which sits around for months without us knowing when it’s coming, like Chainsaw Man. It’s coming this week.
It’s all coming on January 16th! It’ll be added to the item shop for the reset time on that day. Although, players have a chance to win it early on January 13th in the Icon Cup.

The Kizuna Ai Fortnite skin looks like a fun new collab, but who is it? Newer players might be as familiar with them. But they’re one of the older V-Tubers to shoot to international popularity, and eventually play Fortnite.
Kizuna Ai was the most popular V-Tuber on YouTube for some time, with millions of subscribers. Their V-Tuber model was one of the first of its kinds. They even tried out the game in older Fortnite seasons, like Chapter 1. They’ve gone on to release a lot of music, and become known as an artist too.

They’re the first V-Tuber to come into Fortnite. They’ll be part of Festival, in the Icon Series. This is where Fortnite honours real-world people. Including real world streamers, often those who play a lot of Fortnite. But equally, other well-known streamers too. Kizuna Ai will be coming in more as a musician than a streamer though, as part of the Festival mode. The Kizuan Ai Fortnite skin will work on any mode though.
This is the first Fortnite V-Tuber skin, but we could see more. Epic has been adding a lot of streamers into the game lately. V-Tubers rank among some of the most popular streamers out there. More current V-Tubers could be in-line if the Kizuna Ai Fortnite skin sells well enough.
When Fortnite announced they were featuring Ai, a lot of players jumped to a different conclusion! This particular V-Tuber isn’t Ai generated at all. That part of their name is more of a pun than anything else. On the Japanese word, and the idea of Ai. When this V-Tuber launched, a digital streamer was more of a novelty. There also wasn’t the current level of AI-integration, so the name didn’t have the same connotations.
The current generative Ai isn’t a part of this collaboration. It’s just part of the streamers name.
