South Park Fortnite Confirmed to Come Soon

The South Park Fortnite skins have longed been rumoured, now we’ve gotten confirmation from Epic. In a little tease posted, they’ve revealed the release date of the upcoming Fortnite collab. We don’t know exactly what we’re getting in-game for a little while yet, but with the release date confirmed and some earlier leaks, we have a decent idea. It looks like this collab will be taking advantage of a new form of item.

At the moment, Fortnite is in a waiting period. The Fortnite Winterfest event has ended. But it’s still a couple of days until we get to the next update and some fresh content. We’ve had some rumoured collabs lately like Chainsaw Man. However, Epic has confirmed one long-awaited one coming in the next patch. The South Park Fortnite skins are coming. or if the leaks are to be believed, the sidekicks and other cosmetics instead of actual skins.

It’s a collaboration that’s been talked about for a long time now. Prominent leakers said it was coming for a while. With the Sidekicks feature being especially important for it. Between this and Spongebob, for some reason it feels like the Paramount collabs have gotten expansive since we got the companion feature. South Park Fortnite Skins are coming with the next Fortnite update. We’ve found out with a teaser posted to their official social media. Showcasing a South Park character playing Fortnite.

Weirdly, the version of Fortnite on the screen seems to feature a game mode that isn’t even available yet, other than that it’s confirmation that we’re getting Fortnite South Park items. With this teaser, it looks quite possible that Butters will be included in the item!

The screen also shows a five-person team. Which is pretty much the only format we haven’t had, outside of Blitz. The Five-stack mode there was pretty messy. But it could be fun in the more standard game modes.

Outside of that, we haven’t learned a lot from this teaser. But since this confirms those earlier leaks about the Fortnite collab, they might have a bit more information.

Sidekicks

One part of this collab that might be disappointing to some is that it’s going to be sidekicks. Instead of South Park Fortnite skins in full. We’re expecting some of the main younger cast of South Park to be featured as Fortnite sidekicks. Like Cartman, and by the looks of the teaser, probably Butters.

This is what’s been rumoured so far. We don’t have any confirmation of full skins though. It seems like Randy would fit fine in the game’s normal hitboxes. The kids themselves are pretty much never going to fit though. It would take a bizarre distortion to get them into the normal sizes. However, there’s no indication of full South Park Fortnite skins coming just yet. It seems they’ll be companions who follow along.

This will probably be similar to the Spongebob one. That was a popular recent release. It’s a tiny Spongebob who follows you around games, not really doing anything. The boys from South Park will probably be similar. Like Spongebob, we could expect some other cosmetics though. Like harvesting tools, gliders, and emotes. They’re still a mystery for South Park Fortnite. We’ll have to see what arrives once we reach the release date.

South Park Fortnite Skins Release Date

One thing that’s usually a mystery, is when the collab skins will come. Since we don’t normally get a release date, they just kind of show up in the item shop. This time, Epic has given a solid release date in the teaser! It’s coming on September 9th.

It’s part of a bigger change with how they tease collabs. In the past, we got leaks that were semi-official looks at what was coming. But once they were in the game, we had no idea when they’d actually arrive in the item shop. This Chapter, Epic has started giving dates. or some, teasers like they did with South Park today. We normally get a proper look at the items once they’re trailer for the week in the item shop arrives though.

The South Park Fortnite release date is when Epic’s next update to Fortnite is due. The game has been off for Winterfest, and this will be our first update back. Once downtime is over, the South Park Fortnite items will probably be in the item shop already! Sidekicks, other items, and we’ll find out if there’s any actual skins or not!
