The FNCS Major 3 Finals are coming up soon, and while there’s plenty on offer for players this time, fans are still waiting for a shot at the FNCS Pickaxe code! A new FNCS pickaxe code has been made available over the last few seasons. Players had a chance to unlock the Axe of Champions without having to splash out V-Bucks! However, the FNCS code wasn’t part of our normal drops for a finale. Instead, it’s linked to a bit of a bigger purchase.
The FNCS Pickaxe Code won’t be coming just for watching the finals of the most recent FNCS Major along at home. Instead, players will need to actually attend an event! While that’s difficult for most of the season with Majors played online, there was a unique in-person event that saw the Pickaxe given out to loads of fans. This is how the new FNCS code will be distributed in Fortnite:

Last season in Fortnite wasn’t be our standard one, with a lengthy FNCS. Instead, we’re got a Star Wars mini-season. For the last two mini-seasons the FNCS took a break. While the main event had to wait until Season 3 to begin the new Major, we did get something to tide us over. The FNCS Pro-Am.
It’s a new event which paired some of the biggest FNCS players with content creators. So not quite an amateur, but teams were fairly well balanced between the pro players and streamers. With the eventual winners including a streamer who hadn’t seriously played Fortnite in years! The content creators on the better side of the game are were paired with the weaker pros. On top of that, this was a rare Fortnite LAN event. Instead of playing online with everyone’s varying pings, it was in-person like the Global Championship.
As an extra incentive for fans to come out to watch the Pro-Am, the FNCS Pickaxe code was a feature at the event. Anyone purchasing a ticket and attending the tournament got a physical slip containing the FNCS code, which allowed them to collect the FNCS pickaxe.

The FNCS pickaxe is one of the most elusive harvesting tools in the game. It began life as genuinely limited prize. A pickaxe which was given away only to a handful of players in each Fortnite competitive region at any one time. Only the winners of FNCS events had them.
Over time, we’ve seen the pickaxe replaced a couple of times. With the Blade of Champions being the current weapons. While some of the old ones have been sold, the original hasn’t made it into the item shop yet. With this new FNCS Pickaxe code, it’ll finally be available.
Rather than being sold openly when the Item Shop resets, it’s only coming to this Pro-Am! Not quite as rare as when it was limited to the literal best players in the game. However, limiting it to just attendees of a LAN event will ensure it’s still a rare sight in lobbies. It could still eventually appear in the item shop too.
The new FNCS code is going to be exclusively available to those attend the event. If you want to get it, you needed to go to the LAN. Now for some players, that might just not be possible. For various reasons it could be difficult to physically bring yourself down to the LAN.

Whenever codes like this are available, it’s difficult to track who is redeeming them. Which means a lot of people get these codes to sit on and sell later. Since any account can redeem it, those who can’t get the code legitimately can buy it on the secondary market. Not exactly something publishers like Epic enjoy, but most Fortnite codes are available this way. So, it’s buy a ticket, or shell out probably more than the cost of a ticket to get the Pickaxe later. Who knows what price these codes could end up fetching. If it comes to the item shop, it’ll likely be cheaper than buying the code earlier.
The FNCS code will be a physical code you have to redeem in the game. If you’ve used these codes before for promotions like the Mint Pickaxe or just purchased a voucher card, you’ll be familiar with them. A long sequence of random letters and numbers to be redeemed in-game. Essentially, making it impossible to guess! Redeeming the FNCS Pickaxe code is simple too.
The new FNCS code works the same as the past codes distributed for free Fortnite skins. To redeem it, players have to go through these steps:
That’s how you unlock it. Now that the FNCS Pro-Am is over, expect to see this rare pickaxe popping up in-games in the hands of players who attended the LAN.
