The second and final Counter-Strike: Global Offensive Major of 2022, IEM Rio, begins on October 31. The two week tournament will feature 24 of the best CS:GO teams from around the world. As always, teams who qualify for the Major will be split into three groups: Contenders, Challengers, and Legends. The Regional Major Rankings (RMR) events happening from October 4 to 9 will determine who makes it.
IEM Rio Major Schedule
The IEM Rio Major begins on October 31. The Challenger Stage runs until November 3 and features a 16 team Swiss format. Here, the Contenders and Challenger will fight to stay alive at the biggest tournament of the year. The top eight teams will advance, while the bottom eight will be eliminated.
After a day off, the Legends Stage will be played from November 5 to 8. This is another 16 team Swiss stage featuring the previous top eight and the eight Legend qualifiers. Once again, the top eight teams will qualify for the final phase of IEM Rio, while the bottom eight are sent home.
The Champions Stage begins on November 10 with the tournament concluding on November 13. The final eight teams will battle it out in a single elimination bracket to determine who takes home the Major trophy. All matches, including Grand Finals, will be best-of-three.
