North have signed René “cajunb” Borg on a free transfer as Valdemar “valde” Bjørn moves to the bench, the Danish organization has confirmed.

As part of the original North lineup which was transferred from Team Dignitas in January 2017, the Danish tactician will finally make his return after parting ways around the start of 2018. Valde will hand over his position on the roster to make room for cajunb. HLTV has reported rumors the 24-year old fragger will be joining a CS:GO team assembled by OG.

During his year-long stint with Noth, cajunb helped the team to two Major playoffs at ELEAGUE Major: Atlanta 2017 and PGL Major Kraków 2017, which both saw them eliminated in the quarterfinals. Cajunb and company earned their first title finish in September 2017 at DreamHack Open Montreal 2017 and netted a number of other grand final appearances in the process.

During his time away from the Danish band, cajunb had played under Cloud9 and OpTic Gaming for brief stints. The rifler most recently competed at ESL One: New York and DreamHack Masters Malmö with OpTic before stepping down as the team opted to field Oliver “kwezz” Rasmussen as a stand-in.

Cajunb spoke on returning to North, saying: “I am super happy to be back in North,” cajunb said. “We have only been playing for a week, but our chemistry is really good and I am positively surprised.”

North’s upcoming outing will be in Group C of the ESL Pro League early next week. Afterward, the team will venture to Belek, Turkey for StarSeries & i-League Season 8 to compete for the lion’s share of a US$500,000 cash purse – North finished fifth-eighth last year, falling to Fnatic.

With the addition of cajunb, North will now field:

Philip “aizy” Aistrup
Markus “Kjaerbye” Kjærbye
Nicklas “gade” Gade
Jakob “JUGi” Hansen
René “cajunb” Borg

Torbjørn “mithR” Nyborg (coach)

Valdemar “valde” Bjørn Vangså (benched)
