After more than a month of speculation, Fnatic has made the acquisition of Adam “Adam” Maanane official. The Frenchman has been acquired from Karmine Corps after the team won the EU Masters Spring Split at the beginning of May.

The 19-year old French player has quickly ascended the professional League of Legends scene. Adam joined his first team, Olympe eSports, in November 2019 and has already made his way to the LEC less than two years later. The top laner quickly became one of the hottest prospects in Europe during his time with Karmine Corps with his performances on Darius earning praise.

“Besides being one of the most sought-after young talents in Europe, we are very excited about having him in the Black and Orange because Adam represents the future we are building for the coming years,” Javier “dardo” Zafra, Fnatic’s League of Legends Team Director said in a press release.

Fnatic also confirmed in the same press release that Adam will be the starting top laner for the Summer Split. This seems to confirm the long-standing rumor that Fnatic would sign the teenager and move current top laner Gabriël “Bwipo” Rau into the jungle role. The rumor also suggested that Team Vitality will buy out current Fnatic jungler Oskar “Selfmade” Boderek to replace Duncan “Skeanz” Marquet.

Though those moves are unofficial, we do know that Adam will be manning the top for Fnatic moving forward. Bwipo had been the starter in top for Fnatic since taking the position from an injured Paul “sOAZ” Boyer in EU LCS 2018 Spring Split.
