First Impression of the HAVIT H2010D RGB Wired Gaming Headset

The packaging is a simple, black box with grey writing and no image. Inside is a very lightweight headset with a relatively simple design. There are a few things that make the HAVIT H2010D RGB headset stand out.

The headset is black with thin, plastic silver embellishments on the sides, connecting the frame to the cups. The ear cups have an RGB ring. The volume and mute buttons are on the lower back of the left earcup. The mic is a flexible 360-degree, non-retractable tube.

The 6ft braided cord has both the 3.5mm audio jack and the USB specifically for the RGB. Plugging in the USB alone will not render any audio, only the headset’s RGB. The HAVIT H2010D headset doesn’t have any software for customizability. But the existing RBG setting is decent enough.

Though the earcups are cushy with a soft material, they grip a bit too tight. The adjustable headband didn’t do much to alleviate the pressure. I was still able to wear them for a few hours without getting a headache.

The HAVIT H2010D uses dual 50mm drivers which are supposed to give excellent virtual surround sound. The volume dial is oddly inverted: scroll up to turn the volume down and scroll down, to turn the volume up. Still, the audio is surprisingly good for a headset that retails around $29.99.

The noise-canceling mic gives great quality voice communication. Teammates said my voice sounded clear.

A Few Concerns

One thing that bothered me was the mic switch. There’s no clear explanation of what function the mic switch serves. Does the mic switch mute your mic, turn it on or off? Either way, it didn’t work. My voice could be heard while pushed in the up position and when in the down position.

Although my teammates could hear me clearly, they could hear occasional feedback when speaking. Adjusting my settings didn’t seem to fix it.

Final Thoughts

The HAVIT H2010d RGB Gaming Headset is an excellent choice for gamers looking for RGB on a budget. The voice and sound quality of the HAVIT  H2010d are adequate for a headset at this price point. This headset is compatible with Windows, XBOX, and PlayStation consoles and comes in pink.
