Black Dragons battled through against Team Liquid to claim the South America LCQ title. Doing so secures the final spot at the Six Invitational in Paris for the side. The victory by Black Dragons also means they are the last side to secure a spot, meaning the full roster of sides has now been confirmed.

Team Liquid, who beat Elevate Academy in the Lower Bracket Final 2-0, had the chance to make up for a poor 2025 when they faced off against Black Dragons. They got off to a dream start in the first map, but Black Dragons came back after dominating the next two rounds.

Black Dragons Secure Final Spot at Six Invitational 2026

The final spot at the Six Invitational Paris 2026 was on the line, and it all came down to South America. With APAC being done earlier in the day, the winner would join them, alongside NA, and the EU and MENA region in February.

It was the start that Black Dragons did not want in the first map of the series. A strong showing from Team Liquid saw them storm to a commanding 7-4 lead on Lair. It was a strong start for Team Liquid, who needed to come out with a bang. However, as we’ve seen in other LCQ Grand Finals, the first round has tended to favour the side that played in the Lower Bracket Final that day. That said, Team Liquid looked strong, and they’d have been hoping to bring that form into the rest of the series.

That started to change on the second map, however. A strong showing from Black Dragons on Border saw them secure the map 7-4. Team Liquid were strong on the attacking side, picking up three rounds, but a poor showing on defence saw them hand over the game to Black Dragons. With momentum lost at a crucial time, Team Liquid had to do a lot of work to keep the series alive in the third and final map.

The third and final map went to Clubhouse, and it was a similar showing for Black Dragons as it was on map two. Attack saw them claim four rounds, while Team Liquid once again just couldn’t make it work on the attacking side once again. It was a difficult way to end the series for Team Liquid, who just couldn’t get back into the series despite dominating the first map of the series. It ends a poor year for Team Liquid, who will be upset they’ve not managed to come through the Lower Bracket to take on the Grand Final win. 2026 is a fresh start, but given the turbulent roster changes early in 2026, time will tell what’s next for Team Liquid.

The series was surprisingly dominant from Black Dragons, who probably deserve it on the balance of power throughout the LCQ. Black Dragons looked the best side in the region, and fully made it count. While the rest of their 2025 was disappointing, it all came good again when they needed it to.
