Project Zero has won the Europe and MENA Last Chance Qualifier event to secure the final prize spot at the Six Invitational in Paris in February. The 2-1 series between Project Zero and Twisted Minds was highly anticipated, but in the end, it was Project Zero that took the win.
Twisted Minds secured the spot in the Grand Final, having beaten Virtus.pro 2-0 earlier in the day in a dominant performance across the two maps. That set Twisted Minds up for what has been a very frustrating 2025, with one last spot at Paris on the line.
The series started in favour of Project Zero, who secured map one of the Best-of-Three with a strong 7-4 showing on Nighthaven Labs. Project Zero looked strong, though when it moved to map two Twisted Minds started to come back alive. Winning the first half, and maintaining that lead into the second half as they looked to bring the series level.
As the map closed out, Twisted Minds moved to a 6-4 lead, with just one round separating thing from a crucial win to bring the series to 1-1. A huge round from Project Zero took it to another round, taking the map to the full 2 rounds as the series was taken to 6-5 in favour of Twisted Minds. Project Zero came back, bringing the game to 6-6 and forcing the overtime, as Twisted Minds let a huge chance to stay in the series slip by.
Twisted Minds were on attack first, and they got the round win they needed to put pressure on Project Zero to close out the series. Twisted Minds keep it up, secured the map and sent the series to a third and final map. Project Zero had a huge chance to close out a historic series for the underdog side.
In the third and final map of the series, it was Project Zero that came out swinging, securing the early lead on the attack, piling on huge amounts of pressure onto Twisted Minds. They did, however, manage to make it work, Twisted Minds pulling it back to a 3-3 halftime split; however, with the map being defender-sided, Project Zero will be feeling confident.
A back-and-forth start to the second half saw Twisted Minds pull into a 5-4 lead with Project Zero looking for a way back. But Project Zero did pull it back, as the two continued to trade blows as rounds started to run out in this series. Project Zero were the side to move onto series point first, putting all the pressure back onto Twisted Minds. Project Zero though, had it in the bag, and an amazing series of plays from Project Zero saw the underdogs from the UK secure the series win.
With that, Project Zero heads to Paris without an organisation as the team that was demoted from Tier 1 not long ago has proven from Tier 2 that they can make it work.
