Fortnite has begun a brand-new Chapter! What’s new in the Fortnite Chapter 7 patch notes? It’s a major change for Battle Royale. Even for the other Battle Royale modes too, since the game won’t have OG, Blitz, or other games accessible for a few days. But what are the actual changes?

Everything New in Fortnite Chapter 7 Patch Notes

The biggest ones are pretty obvious. We’ve got a completely different way of dropping in, a new map, plus the inevitable UI tinkering that breaks the locker every year! It’s a lot bigger than standard Fortnite updates. This is what’s changed with the Fortnite Chapter 7 patch notes:

New Map

The biggest change has to be the new map! it’s all new. Obviously, we can’t list every landmark in the Fortnite Chapter 7 patch notes. But it’s a whole new place to play out Battle Royale. These are the new POIs on the map:

  • Battlewood Boulevard
  • Sandy Strip
  • Wonkeeland

  • Humble Hills
  • Bumpy Bay
  • Classified Canyon

The new map is themed around the west coast of America. We’ve got Hollywood, a Water Park, all the stuff you’d expect.

Battle Pass

There’s a brand new Fortnite Chapter 7 Battle Pass! There’s a ton of different skins here for players to unlock. It’s all in the premium pass this time though. Last season had the Tier 0 skin become a free Fortnite skin at Tier 100, but not this time. If you want the skins, you’ll need to get the Premium Battle Pass this time. Or use the Fortnite Crew Pack.

New Items

The biggest change in the Fortnite Chapter 7 Patch Notes might be the loot pool. As we reach new Chapter change, we get a completely different set of items. Although, there’s also a couple of different mechanics applying to each weapon that have been introduced.

The game has changed the way you transition into an ADS weapon. Plus, reloads in weapons now carry over. If you stop halfway through, it saves. Bit of a weird change but it does mean things will be a little faster.

Outside of that, there’s tons of new Fortnite weapons. These are the ones you can use already:

  • Iron Pump Shotgun – The new Pump!
  • Twin Hammer Shotguns – Despite these being labelled as dual-wield Pump Shotguns, they’re the Auto for the season. It’s an auto shotgun with a different animation.
  • Deadeye Assault Rifle – Scoped AR. Slower firing but quite accurate and decent at longer range.
  • Holo Rush SMG – A kind of evolution of the Holo-Twister. It’s an SMG with a red-dot scope, fast and hits hard.
  • Sniper Rifle – Another new form of the sniper. This is again a three-shot one, for some reason.
  • Arc-Lightning Gun – A no-aiming gun. Fire vague lightning around you, damages everything but quite slowly.
  • Forsaken Vow Blade – A new version of the Typhoon Blade. This one works differently with fall damage, so be careful.

Those are the core weapons, but the Fortnite Chapter 7 patch notes have a few different items too. Including returning items, like Chug Jugs. And a new form of mobility.

Wingsuit

The Wingsuit is the new form of mobility! It’s a flying suit, lets you move around the map in the sky. It’s close to the wings and other flight items we’ve seen in the past. It has limited uses and some animations for start-up that make it a bit difficult to use.

Reboot Changes

There’s also been some bizarre changes to the Reboot mechanic in the Fortnite Chapter 7 Patch Notes! Starting, with the Reboot Vans. These are now driveable. You can move them to make sure you’re rebooting in peace.

There’s also now a Self-revive item. Which lets you revive yourself when you’re dead. It even works in Solos. Where it’s pretty pointless since you’ll just get eliminated when you’re on the floor.

New Boss Mechanics

Bosses have been a part of the game since the Chapter 2 Fortnite seasons, but they’ve gotten a little dull. With this new change, we’ve got a fresh mechanic here. Players will be able to kill bosses to get a Mythic like before. However, they also drop a transform totem, where you can turn yourself into a new boss with extra abilities and power.

Gold Now Resets

The next big change in the Fortnite Chapter 7 patch notes is to gold. Players won’t get their gold rolled out anymore. Instead, each game you start from zero.

These are all big changes! We’ll have to see how they settle. Epic still hasn’t announced how the FNCS will work this season. But it should be interesting to see how these changes play out in Fortnite tournaments.
