ARAM Mayhem Fans Rejoice — The game mode stays for 2026

ARAM Mayhem gathered “overwhelming positive feedback”

Launched during the League of Legends 2025 World Championship, ARAM Mayhem took the community by storm thanks to its unpredictable power-ups and dynamic gameplay. The Riot Games devs even hosted a special ARAM Mayhem event ahead of the Worlds 2025 final in China, modifying augments and effects based on the players’ ideas.

While it was initially set to end with the start of the new season, the game devs have decided to keep the game mode available going into 2026, following the incredible enthusiasm and attention from the LoL community. The confirmation came alongside several news for the release of Season 16, which will revolve around Demacia and will also have several key gameplay changes with the first patch of 2026.

According to game designer Spideraxe, ARAM Mayhem will not only stay but also come with a new update on February 4, when Patch 26.03 is set to be released, according to the official LoL patch schedule. That said, no details about what’s coming were revealed. That being said, it’s a nice thing to see that Riot is willing to listen to its community and keep temporary game modes for longer when successful, similar to what happened with Arena a while ago.

If you’re waiting to see some esports action, remember that the 2026 calendar will kick off with both the LPL Split 1 and the LCK Cup on January 14, followed by the LEC Versus on January 17, and the returning LCS on the following weekend.
