MOONTON Games has partnered with global esports organizer PGL to launch the inaugural PGL MLBB Challengers. This marks PGL’s first-ever Mobile Legends tournament in the region and a significant milestone for the game’s European esports ambitions.
The new tournament aims to strengthen Europe’s grassroots MLBB scene, offering emerging teams a structured path into high-level competition while tapping into one of the world’s most played mobile esports titles. MLBB is officially taking a major step into Europe’s competitive spotlight.
Since its release in 2016, Mobile Legends: Bang Bang has grown into one of the most popular esports in the market with more than 1.5 billion installs and 110 million monthly active users.
That momentum carried into 2024, when MLBB Esports recorded 475 million hours watched, placing it among the most-watched esports titles in the world. The announcement of global partners for the M7 World Championship further reinforced the game’s standing on the international stage—and now, Europe is firmly part of that vision.
For MOONTON Games, teaming up with PGL represents a strategic move to accelerate MLBB’s growth in Europe. PGL’s experience in hosting large-scale esports events across multiple titles gives the partnership immediate credibility, particularly in a region where mobile esports continues to gain traction.
According to MOONTON, the collaboration is designed to create sustainable pathways for players while laying the groundwork for a stronger European MLBB community. By combining MOONTON’s global esports infrastructure with PGL’s regional expertise, both organizations are aiming to nurture new talent and elevate competitive standards across the continent.
For PGL, the tournament signals an expansion into mobile esports at a time when the category is rapidly growing. Hosting MLBB in Europe also allows PGL to connect with a passionate player base while diversifying its tournament portfolio.

The PGL MLBB Challengers Open Qualifier kicks off on the 13th of January, welcoming teams from across the region to compete in a single-elimination, Best-of-One format. From there, the top eight teams will advance to the Main Event, scheduled for 16th–18th January.
From there, the early-stage matches will be played in Best-of-Three series, while Upper and Lower Bracket clashes move to Best-of-Five. The tournament will conclude with a Best-of-Seven Grand Finals, where Europe’s first PGL MLBB Challengers champions will be crowned.
The launch of PGL MLBB Challengers represents more than just another tournament—it’s a clear signal of long-term investment in Europe’s MLBB ecosystem. With structured competition, experienced tournament organizers, and growing community interest, the region now has a platform designed to foster both talent development and competitive integrity.
As MLBB continues its global expansion, Europe’s scene is finally getting the spotlight it’s been building toward—one match at a time.
