Fortnite has tons of modes now. While Simpsons might be dominating Battle Royale, Blitz Royale Fortnite is getting a different new map. And it’s going to be another collab map! With a Stranger Things takeover next up on the schedule for the mini-mode.
Now this update has been announced, we know where Blitz Royale Forntite is going next. Which now means Reload, Battle Royale, and Blitz Fortnite have all had different collaborations take over the map. Blitz gets a bit more change than just a map though.
Since it first launched, the Blitz Royale Fortnite mode has had a different schedule. While every other game mode has a seasonal schedule which cycle in bigger changes every couple of months, Blitz Royale is quicker. Just like the map is smaller and player count tiny, Blitz Royale goes through different weeks of content. With each week introducing another new theme and different set-up for Blitz. What does the Blitz Royale Fortnite schedule look like right now?
A major new update is coming to Blitz Royale! This will be a Stranger Things themed update. Later this week, we’re getting a handful of new Fortnite skins from the franchise. There’s five planned. One of each major character who doesn’t have a skin yet and another of one of the monsters from the show. While the Simpsons content probably means Battle Royale will be Stranger Things free, it is coming to the Blitz Royale Fortnite mode instead.

Blitz Royale is a mini Battle Royale which has been around since the summer. It’s got a low player count per game and very quick pace. The storm closes in nearly as soon as the match begins. Players are constantly shoved together with fights breaking out. Although, there’s often only ten actual players in the game.
Looting works differently too. There are chests for the opening storm circle. But you also get a new item, bon, Mythic, medallion or something else every few minutes as you level up. The overpowered loot is so easy to get, most chests aren’t worth bothering with. Few players have time for them either!
Blitz Royale is a really fast paced alternative to Battle Royale. The Blitz Royale Fortnite Stranger Things update will introduce a new map. This one will be based around Stranger things. It’ll most likely be similar to the Squid Games Reload map we saw previously. This was a map of Fortnite POIs, but with a clear inspiration from Squid Games. The new map will probably be similarly inspired.
In terms of loot pool changes, we’re probably not expecting Stranger Things weapons. Blitz Royale Fortnite is already full of pretty random items, like loads of medallions and Fortnite exotics we’ve seen in past Battle Royale seasons. It’ll likely stay as this random mix for the Stranger Things week. But the addition of a new map will change things up quite a bit!

The other half of the Blitz Fortnite content is a new Fortnite tournament. Not every skin gets one, but big releases often get cosmetic cups. Opportunities for players to win a free skin, by going head-to-head against the best Fortnite players. This time the cosmetic cup is being played in Blitz Royale Fortnite! We don’t get many tournaments in this mode, so it’ll be an interesting change.
The set-up for Blitz Fortnite is a mode that changes things around a lot more often. When the game first launches, it was a limited-time thing. We had five different weeks that each had a unique theme. Differing loot and powers for each week. But the same map made up of older Fortnite POIs shrunk down. It was supposed to go away once its initial schedule was done. But it proved popular.

Since Blitz Royale became permanent, we haven’t had as clear of a schedule. We don’t really know when Blitz Royale Fortnite will get a new theme, or what’s coming next. There’s no ongoing schedule like there used to be. But we do still get content changes nearly weekly. It’s just a bit more unpredictable. This is how the Blitz Royale Fortnite schedule has looked so far:
This next update will introduce the Blitz Royale Fortnite week for Stranger Things! This is coming with a change to loot and the map, so there will be even more reasons to check out Blitz.
