There are tons of different Battle Royales in Fortnite now, but one of the most popular lately been Blitz Royale Fortnite. This mode is a more condensed Battle Royale, more casual friendly. Games are incredibly quick. Completely overpowered items just appear to you out of thin-air. To a lot of players, it’s a really fun take on the genre. But what’s different and what is Bitz Royale in Fortnite?
Blitz Royale is a newer mode that’s came in more recent Fortnite seasons. It’s a smaller and faster Battle Royale. To some players, it’s perfectly designed to fit in when you don’t have time for Battle Royale. It’s also been a hit in Mobile.
The game mode has helped to offer different experiences in Fortnite. Along with Ranked, there’s now quite a few different ways to play Battle Royale. Blitz can be very chaotic, but it definitely has a lot to enjoy. There are a few main differences between Battle Royale and Blitz Royale.

Blitz Royale is a Battle Royale. But it is very different to the standard Fortnite Battle Royale we all know. Although, what is Blitz Royale in Fortnite isn’t completely different. Instead of landing, getting loot, then carefully rotating through storm circles, it’s a lot faster.
Players land with a Medallion and three items. Shield Bubbles, a heal, and a Mythic or Fortnite Exotic. So right off the bat you’ve got a loadout that’s amazing in other modes. Near instantly the circle starts closing up. It’s a mode where you fight as you run, usually ending in a tiny zone within a few minutes.
The Blitz part of the name isn’t there for nothing. That’s the style of gameplay. There’s quite a bit of a difference in the details of how Blitz Royale Fortnite works though:

Fortnite Battle Royale has 100 players, Reload has 40, but what about Blitz? It’s only 32 players. So, it’s smallest Battle Royale by far. The question of bugs is usually the next thing players think about with these modes. Almost every part of Fortnite’s ecosystem has them now.
Blitz does had bots. Quite a lot of them too. Some dataminers have suggested the game limits human players per round to eight people. Meaning 26 bots. Given how fast it is though, they aren’t as much of a vibe killer. You farm them while rotating to help unlock some of the best Fortnite weapons available in the mode.

The looting system in Fortnite Blitz Royale is one of the biggest changes. Players get that OP loadout when they load in, but the whole island is completely loaded with the best weapons. You get them in chests, but also for levelling up.
The level mechanic is in play, just like recent Fortnite seasons. As you level up, you get a random Mythic, Medallion, or other high-level loot. By the end game pretty much everyone has a ridiculous loadout. This has included items like. The One Punch Man medallion, which gave you the power to one hit anything with your pickaxe.
The weapons and items in Blitz Royale Fortnite aren’t trying to be properly balanced, like in Battle Royale. it’s kind of a chaos driven mode, where everyone is OP. so in theory, no one is! it’s got a different appeal.
Don’t get too used to the content in Blitz Royale Fortnite, it changes every week. Blitz began with a time limited format, only running as it went through different events. They’ve kept that format, even now it’s a permanent mode.
The content gets rotated regularly. Like launching the Marvel season with a new free Fortnite skin, or the week focusing on Mega City. This keeps the game fresh! But it might mean you can check out for a week or so if the loot isn’t appealing to you.

The Blitz Royale Fortnite mode is pure chaos, so is there any tournaments coming? The game mode isn’t exactly the focus. You won’t see the FNCS played here.
However, there is a new Fortnite mobile series coming next year. So far, Blitz has been the focus for the return of Fortnite iOS. As a quicker, casual friendly mode, it’s much more accessible to mobile. This doesn’t mean it’ll be in play for this series though. We might see the Mobile Series use Blitz Royale, but it could just be a mobile limited Battle Royale tournament. We won’t know until we learn more about the mobile series coming in next year’s Fortnite esports. Blitz Royale probably won’t be taking over in competitive anytime soon though.
