Fortnite Tyler the Creator Skin Revealed

For the past few weeks, we’ve been expecting a new artist to come to Fortnite. Epic makes skins of musicians all the time, but the Fortnite Tyler the Creator skin is one of the most anticipated. It looks like I’ll be coming as part of the Fortnite Icon Series. A special classification of skins reserved for the biggest icons in Fortnite.

We might be part way through the Fortnite Simpsons mini season, but we are still getting other skins in between the different Simpsons characters. Including newer collabs. We’ve been expecting this artist to come to the game during this mini season for a while now. It seems the Fortnite Tyler the Creator skin will be pretty soon though, we’re expecting it to drop within hours now it has been officially unveiled. With a new trailer from Epic, we’ve got a decent look at the new skins, how they’ll look, and more.

Fortnite Tyler the Creator Skin Coming

This week, Epic has unveiled that a Fortnite Tyler the Creator skin is coming soon. This has been rumoured in Fortnite leaks for a little while now. But with this trailer we’ve gotten confirmation.

There are two different Fortnite Tyler the Creator skins here. One in a more casual outfit, and another more stylized. Both drawing from looks earlier in the rapper’s career. Although, Epic might be avoiding some of the earliest tracks for Jam Tracks if they don’t want too much censorship.

The two styles will likely be coming separately, with one in the item shop. There’s also going to be some other cosmetics. Leakers have found some emotes to go with it, one of which seems to be featured in the early trailer we’ve seen for the Fortnite Tyler the Creator skin. What else is coming though?

Will There Be an Event?

Whenever a new artist is announced as coming to the game, one big question is about Fortnite live events. Will a new live event be held for the Fortnite Tyler the Creator skin?

It doesn’t seem like it. Right now, there’s no indication that there will be a live event alongside the skin releasing. It seems to just be the normal cosmetics this time. The last major artist was Doja Cat, who didn’t get an event but was a big part of Battle Royale. Before that we got Daft Punk who got a live event. It’s more common today for it to just be skins though.

We are expecting a big live event for the end of the current season. It’s unlikely there will be another this season though.

Release Date

With the Fortnite Tyler the Creator skins officially announced, when are we going to see them come to the item shop? We don’t have an exact date, but leakers think it’s going to come at the next item shop switchover! So it should release in-game tonight. Although, the exact time will be different depending on which server region you’re in. The shop resets at the same time worldwide, but time zones mean that’s a more or less convenient time depending on where you are.

Since the Fortnite Tyler the Creator skin is already in the game files, we won’t need an update to see the new skin. It’ll just be activated in the shop once the time comes.
