Today, we’ve seen a major set of announcements for the Fortnite State of Unreal presentation. An occasional update into how the Unreal Engine is progressing. This time, we got a new sneak peek at games like the Witcher 4 which will be running on Unreal. However, for Fortnite fans there’s been some big news. Especially with the new features and content that are coming for UnrealFN developers.

Fortnite State of Unreal Announcements Promise AI Characters and More

Since Epic launcher the Unreal Editor or Fortnite maps, we’ve gradually seen more and more features be made available. Players now make quite creative stuff on the platform. These new tools will allow them to take things even further. Although, if the Creative discovery will help players find it is another story. We also got a hint at next season, but mainly that Shiny Shafts won’t be demolished! These are the big announcements of Fortnite State of Unreal so far:

This season, Fortnite has been focused on Star Wars. While we’ve had weapons, flyable ships, and lightsabers, the biggest appeal might have been a Darth Vader character you could talk to though. Players quickly got to work trying to get him to break the rules, which seemed to be the most exciting part. These tools for AI characters and conversation are going to be part of a major update to Fortnite map creators.

The new feature has been showcased in the Fortnite State of Unreal announcements. It’ll mean that creators can begin to create characters with the same AI abilities as Darth Vader. Players will be able to talk to the characters and they’ll respond in a more organic way than a normal chatbot. It’ll even work with voices. They showcased a version of it with a live demo of how it works. This new feature will be beta tested for creators soon and has the potential to open up Unreal Maps.

Alongside the new AI characters, the Fortnite State of Unreal Announcements have also shown off an Ai chatbot to help creators in the editor. Specifically, with writing code in the Verse programming language. These new features should open things up for creators. Although, with Fortnite already in trouble for AI use with an actors union, it could be a sign of a move away from human performances. Outside of that, creators will also be able to use an increasingly amount of intellectual property in Fortnite!

New UEFN IP Coming

Fortnite is known for tons of crossovers, with everything from Skibidi Toilet to DC skins in Fortnite. Most of them aren’t cleared for Creative though, where players have to tip toe around IP a bit more. We are increasingly getting certain franchises put on a safe list though. Quite a few more are coming with the Fortnite State of Unreal announcements.

The first of these will be Squid Games. Players can begin to use Squid Games IP starting from the end of June! Squid Game knock offs called Octo Games are already a huge part of Fortnite Creative so this will be a welcome addition.

Then there’s some collaborations that have already featured in the game. Avatar the Last Airbender and Star Wars will both be coming in the future. Along with TMNT, which is already enabled.

These Fortnite State of Unreal announcements are always more for creators than players, so we’ll have to hold off a bit longer to see any of it actually come into the game as a playable map.
