The Fortnite Simpsons map was for the second mini season we ever saw, and it was really detailed. For a map that was only ever going to be around for a month… a lot of work went into it. It was one of the most lovingly recreated Fortnite collabs we’ve seen. But as with all banished former maps, never to be seen again. that might be changing.

Fortnite leakers have begun to mention the Fortnite Simpsons map coming back. This could mean that Springfield will be playable once again! Although, it doesn’t seem like it’s coming back to the mainline Battle Royale. Instead, it’s going to be arriving for Fortnite Reload.
According to Fortnite leakers, the Fortnite Simpsons map might be added to the Reload map rotation soon. The smaller Battle Royale mode doesn’t have one polished map we play for a year at a time. Instead, it rotates through a ton of smaller maps. Since Reload is a lot more about the action, it makes sense to not focus on any specific map.
The Simpsons map coming back would be the quickest we’ve ever seen a map return. the Chapter 1 map first made a comeback for OG. We now cycle through the classic Fortnite seasons regularly in the dedicated mode. Chapter 2 also came back, a. year later than OG. An adapted version was featured in Fortnite Remix. those were all a long time after they went away though.

The Fortnite Simpsons map coming back is different. This would be making a collab season that’s less than a year old a permanent part of the game. Although, a permanent home for Springfield in Fortnite was requested by players during its original run. The biggest question is how they’ll adapt the size of the Fortnite Simpsons map for Reload. The season it originated in was a lot bigger in player count per game than Reload.
The Fortnite season for the Simpsons saw Battle Royale change from 100 players, down to 80. Since the Springfield map was significantly smaller than what came before. However, Reload has 40-players in a game.

It’s half the size of the Battle Royale game mode, even in that mini season. There are a few possibilities for how to work around this. The first, would be to just leave it as it is. The Fortnite Simpsons map was stuffed. Players were crawling over each other at all times because the map was smaller than reasonable for 80 players. It was tiny compared to normal 100 player BR maps. It’ll be a more spread out Reload map, but the storm will push players together quickly enough.
The other option is to cut it down a bi. Remove some of the filler areas. The Fortnite Simpsons map had plenty of breathing room between POIs, so there’s room to do this too.
Right now, the only Fortnite news about this collab is the Springfield map coming back as early leaks. We won’t know for certain until it gets confirmed by Epic. Hopefully, Springfield can find it’s way back into the game. The map had a lot of care put in and it would be great to permanently be able to explore.
