With the new patch that came today, there’s a unique Fortnite Battle Bus skin added to the game! The Battle bus has always been a part of Fortnite. A pretty big part. It ferries players into the island every time that a game begins. Sometimes, it has been in the game as a unique vehicle. However, from now on you’ll be much more likely to spot it. In games of Battle Royale, and Rocket Racing. A new skin will let you drive it every game.
This new skin has been added in with the latest update, but it hasn’t been enabled yet. It’s appeared in the files and we can have a good look at it thanks to Fortnite leakers. However, we don’t know where the Fortnite Battle Bus will end up yet.
The new skin is fun, but it might raise a bit of confusion. We’ve now had multiple types of Battle Bus in the game. The current one could mean the old version of the vehicle won’t be coming back anytime soon. Along with Blitz Royale, this is one of the most exciting parts of the new update. But how can you get the Battle Bus in Fortnite and use it in-game?
Fortnite Battle Bus Skin
With the new Fortnite update, a version of the Battle Bus will be available for players pretty soon! It’s a skin for an SUV in-game. Since Epic added cars, we’ve had different ways of customizing them. Most recently, its full skins. Replacing wraps. When you get into an SUV on the map, it’ll transform into your skin. Once it’s available, if you have one, it’ll be the Fortnite Battle Bus skin.
The new skin does look a lot like the Battle Bus. It’s similar to the version of the bus that ended up in Rocket league too. Your SUV won’t become a full-sized bus, with seating for all 100 players though. It’s a shrunk down version so it better fits the dimensions of the in-game model. Otherwise, it wouldn’t exactly take the best Fortnite weapons to blow the Battle Bus up.
This means every SUV on the map could end up as a Battle Bus. There’s a big difference between the skin and how the Battle Bus used to appear as a vehicle.
How to Get the Battle Bus in Fortnite
If you want to get the Battle Bus in Fortnite, you’ll have to wait a little bit.
The Fortnite Battle bus skin has shown up in Fortnite leaks already, but it isn’t out yet. The most likely solution for how to get the Battle Bus in Fortnite will be to buy it in the item shop. Although, there’s a chance there’s a giveaway too.
Since we’re coming up to the Fortnite summer event, this is normally a time when there’s free skins and cosmetics. A new Battle Bus skin might be a good fit for that promotion! Although, given how popular the skin has proven this far ahead of release, they might be keeping it in the store to maximize sales.
Until we get to its release, we won’t know exactly how to get the Battle Bus in Fortnite. The most likely option is going to be to hand over V-Bucks though.
When Will it Release?
The new Fortnite Battle Bus skin is in the game’s files, but when will it release properly? Once skins are de-encrypted and leakers put out images of them, it tends to mean they’re going to arrive soon.
Although, the upcoming summer break throws a spanner in the works. Since Epic will be off for a few weeks, quite a bit of content is in the files at once so it can gradually turn on in-game. This could mean we only expect the Battle Bus to show up between now, and the update after the summer break.
Can You Get a Battle Bus Vehicle in-game?
In the past, we’ve seen the Fortnite Battle Bus full size on the map. After being dropped off by one Battle Pass, players could find a driveable version on the map. These buses had special weapons, a lot of health, but it was a huge target. The Fortnite Battle Bus skin is different though, it’ll just be a standard SUV. Same health. Same abilities. Just a cosmetic difference.
The leaked Fortnite Battle Bus skin is quite a bit smaller though. So, the potential for players mixing it up with the real one is probably quite low! Despite that, it does probably lessen the chances of the vehicle coming back properly.
Most special cars haven’t come back since we switched to skins for the existing models instead of wraps. We just have SUVs and sports card. It seems Epic wants to focus on the type of cars they can sell, rather than the ones that have their own qualities!
