We all know that feeling of having an annoying player on your team in CS2. Maybe they’re trolling, or maybe they’re just plain bad. Regardless, the solution is usually just to kick them from the game. But did you know you can actually kick yourself in CS2? In this guide, we’ll show you how to kick yourself in CS2, if you ever want to get yourself out of a lobby where things just aren’t going to plan. It happens to the best of us.

How to Kick Yourself in CS2

If you call a votekick on yourself, this can help you avoid a competitive cooldown while still getting out of a match. Beware, though – if you do this in a CS2 Premier match while ranked, you will lose around 1,000 elo, so sometimes it’s better to ride out the bad times. If you’re deadset on kicking yourself in CS2, follow these steps:

  • Enable the in-game console in the in-game settings. This setting is named “Enable Developer Console (~)” in the Game tab. Ensure it is set to Yes.
  • When in-game, open the console with the tilde (~) key.
  • Enter the command “status” and press Enter.
  • This will bring up the names of everyone in the lobby. Find the row with your name in it, then look for the column named “id.” Make note of the number that corresponds to your ID – this can be seen in the image below.

How to Kick Yourself in CS2 Command

From here, you’re almost done with learning how to kick yourself in CS2. Next, enter the command “callvote kick [id]” with your ID number replacing the placeholder. You don’t need the brackets either. So, if, like in the image above, your player ID was 34, the command you would type would be “callvote kick 34” and hit Enter.

That’s it – you’ve voted to kick yourself in CS2, and you’re now at the mercy of whether your teammates actually choose to follow through with the act. It’s one of the few funny CS2 console commands that actually has utility, even if you don’t think you have much use for it yourself.

Kicking Yourself in CS2

While it’s good that you can kick yourself in CS2 where necessary, it’s also worth noting that you should use this sparingly. If you’re getting kicked from lots of matches, it will affect your CS2 trust factor. Long-term, this ensures that you’ll get much worse matches and might encounter more cheaters. Votekicking yourself every now and then is fine, but every few matches will have an impact on your Counter-Strike experience.
