In late 2025, Valve inadvertently crashed the market for gold items by releasing an update that allowed players to do a gloves CS2 trade-up using five Covert skins. It was arguably one of the biggest CS2 skins updates ever released. We’ve put together an easy-to-understand guide to CS2 gloves trade-ups, showing which skins give which gloves when you put them into a trade-up contract.

For the most part, doing a gloves CS2 trade-up is the same as a regular trade-up. There are some important distinctions you still need to know.
With these principles in mind, it’s time to get into the nitty-gritty of gloves CS2 trade-ups.
With CS2 glove trade-ups, the items you can receive are determined by the skins you put in. Gloves are separated into three groups, each aligned with the Covert skins found in their respective cases and collections. This makes it easier to work out which skins give which gloves in CS2 trade-ups.

All of the CS2 gloves in Glove Group 1 can be found in the Glove Case and the Operation Hydra Case. They are as follows:
If you’re looking to do a gloves CS2 trade-up for any of the above options, then you’ll need to use these four Covert skins:
This is a particularly expensive gloves trade-up, as all of these CS2 skins are extremely expensive, even in Battle-Scarred wear rating. The cheapest to pick up is the SSG 08 Dragonfire, which still costs around $300 in Battle-Scarred. However, if you want to trade up for CS2 gloves with a higher float, the price only goes up to approximately $500 in Factory New. Bear in mind, that’s the CHEAPEST in Factory New.

The gloves from Glove Group 2 are pooled together from the Clutch Case and Revolution Case, and can be found below:
There are four Covert skins from the Clutch Case and Revolution Case, which can be used to guarantee items from Glove Group 3. They are:
Compared to Glove Group 1, the Covert skins required for Glove Group 2 are much cheaper across the board. In Battle-Scarred wear rating, all of the above skins will set you back around $30, putting a full gloves trade-up at around $150. In Factory New, these skins range from anywhere from $100 for the MP7 Bloodsport to upwards of $170 for the M4A4 Neo-Noir. This is considerably more expensive with a full trade-up for gloves, but this won’t come as a surprise to anyone.

Glove Group 3 is unique in that it’s the only one that contains gloves from three CS2 cases: the Operation Broken Fang Case, Recoil Case, and Snakebite Case. Despite this, just as with the other two groups, there are 24 pairs of gloves in Glove Group 3. They are:
Because Glove Group 3 is comprised of three collections, there are two more Covert CS2 skins you can use to guarantee a trade-up from this selection. These are as follows:
From this selection of skins, the M4A1-S Printstream is a total price outlier, and should be avoided for any gloves CS2 trade-up. Its Battle-Scarred Variant starts at around $175, making it more expensive than the Factory New version of most of these skins. For a BS glove trade-up, you can use anything besides the M4A1-S Printstream. At higher floats, the AWP Chromatic Aberration becomes your best option, with the cheapest Factory New float at around $95.
Getting your head around glove trade-ups in CS2 isn’t too hard, but if you’re still confused, then we’ve put together this table to help you understand what skins give which gloves, as well as the cheapest Covert skin from every group.
| Skins | Cases | Glove Group | Cheapest Skin (FN) |
|---|---|---|---|
| AWP Oni Taiji, Five-SeveN Hyper Beast, M4A4 Buzz Kill, SSG 08 Dragonfire | Glove Case & Operation Hydra Case | 1 | SSG 08 Dragonfire ($500) |
| AK-47 Head Shot, M4A4 Neo-Noir, M4A4 Temukau, MP7 Bloodsport | Clutch Case & Revolution Case | 2 | MP7 Bloodsport ($100) |
| AWP Chromatic Aberration, Glock-18 Neo-Noir, M4A1-S Printstream, M4A4 In Living Color, USP-S Printstream, USP-S The Traitor | Operation Broken Fang Case, Recoil Case, & Snakebite Case | 3 | AWP Chromatic Aberration ($95) |
Because of the increase in price of Covert CS2 skins, any of the above glove trade-ups are going to cost a significant amount of money. In most instances, it will be cheaper to buy the gloves you want, unless you’re on the hunt for a particularly rare pair of gloves. If you’re dead-set on going through with a gloves trade-up contract, you should research the cheapest Covert CS2 skins to find out the best ones to buy first.
