With Valve releasing the newest season of CS2’s Premier mode, some players are already looking forward to whatever the developer has planned next. Valve hasn’t confirmed exactly when the CS2 Premier Season 5 release date will be, but we can make a very good guess based on patterns from previous seasons.

The very first CS2 Premier season was by far the longest to date, lasting well over a year. The seasons since have operated on a much more regular schedule, giving players a great idea of how long each one will last. It has worked to predict when Premier Seasons 2, 3, and 4 would start, so it makes sense you could use this to predict the CS2 Premier Season 5 start date, too.
The precedent right now is that Premier seasons last around six months. This means that the CS2 Premier Season 5 release date should be just after the IEM Cologne Major 2026, which will conclude on June 21st, 2026.
It should be noted that CS2 Premier Season 5 won’t necessarily release immediately after the Major. In recent seasons, Valve has waited around a month for the dust to settle before finally bringing out the new season, concluding the old one. Based on the last few seasons, players can expect the CS2 Premier Season 5 release date to be around mid-July. For context, CS2 Premier Season 4 started on January 21st, 2026, and you can expect it to be around six months on from this.
Many players are absolutely convinced that when Season 5 of CS2 Premier releases, Cache will arrive with it. In previous seasons, this sentiment was a case of players coping, but it does feel like a distinctive possibility for the next season. This is due to Valve directly confirming on X that Cache is “cooking,” claiming, “Of all things, Cache does not deserve to be microwaved.”
It's cooking.

Valve actually confirming Cache for the first time is pretty big news, but there’s no guarantee it’ll be ready in time for the CS2 Premier Season 5 release date. And by suggesting it “doesn’t deserve to be microwaved,” it appears to be Valve’s way of telling us that it won’t be released until it’s fully ready. Don’t expect it, but it’ll be a nice surprise if it does land in time for Premier Season 5.
