I have tried numerous Turtle Beach products and have seen a significant increase in quality, comfort, and design over the past few years. Turtle Beach back in 2005 certainly isn’t the same company as they are in 2019. If there is any product to show off Turtle Beach’s positive strides, it is the Elite Atlas PC Headset.

Design
Turtle Beach has decided to toss away the plastic and create a product out of metal and industry-leading design. The headband is wrapped in cushion padding that comfortably sits on top of your head without feeling heavy. Thanks to the tension cord within the cushion padding, the headband automatically adjusts across the top of the user’s head.
The Elite Atlas does have plastic around the headset, specifically around the ear cups, but the joints are reinforced with brushed metal. Turtle Beach also decided to include magnetic speaker tags, similar to Astro Gaming’s. The ear cups are also magnetic, so it is easy to remove them for cleaning.
Turtle Beach sent me the black variation of the Elite Atlas, and I must say, the black plastic with grey, metal accents certainly makes this headset look sleek and professional.
Performance
Sound
The ear cups are surrounded by thick, breathable cushions. The outsides are covered in faux-leather while the insides have a soft, cloth which helps keeps ears cool. One of my favorite features from the Elite Atlas is the ProSpecs design backed by a comfort-driven design that removes pressure from glasses. I have been able to work a full six-hour shift without feeling the need to cool down my ears or remove the headset.
Game Quality
The huge 50mm Nanoclear speakers within the Elite Atlas deliver clear, crisp sound on PC. I dropped about 50 hours in Apex Legends using the Elite Atlas headset, and it was obvious that I had an advantage over other players. There was a match I played with two of my friends when we dropped into Skulltown. I wasn’t able to locate a weapon, but thanks to the frequency response of 12 Hz to 20 kHz, I was able to sneak around the city to find a Spitfire. I was able to hear footsteps outside of the different structures I was in, along with being able to locate enemy locations.
The Elite Atlas comes with several different wires and an attachable microphone. The microphone easily snaps into the headset and is about 7 inches long. The microphone is rubber-coated so players can adjust their microphone perfectly. The tip of the microphone has a filter to help fight against background noise and wind distortion. The wires that were included were a microphone and headset male-to-female braided splitter and a male-to-male braided 3.5mm wire. I needed to use the splitter in order to lengthen the wire, as the 3.5mm cable is only about 3 feet long. The quality of the cables are top of the line, and I actually use Turtle Beach’s cables with my other gaming products.

Summary
You can’t go wrong with Turtle Beach’s Elite Atlas PC headset, especially at its $100 price point. I have tried other gaming headsets around this price point, and the Elite Atlas delivers at every corner. I even found myself enjoying the headset so much, that I would use them for listening to music. Even though the Elite Atlas is advertised for PC, it works splendidly on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch and mobile.
