The Dallas Fuel announced on Wednesday that they have released Main Support player Jonathan “HarryHook” Tejedor Rua, after he was accused of making sexist comments online. The Fuel took swift action on the allegations, removing the player from their team within an hour of the original post on Twitter. Harryhook was a fixture for the Dallas Fuel, playing with them for three years before this disciplinary removal.

On Wednesday afternoon, a Twitter user calling herself Regina came forward with a number of screenshots depicting conversations between her and Harryhook. In the conversation, Regina accuses Harryhook of being misogynistic for calling women “whores” and “meat”. In response, HarryHook said “Some are whores, its life, can’t change that” and then later, “There is a lot of girls I know they are just bitches.”
According to Regina’s tweet, this was not isolated behavior either. She stated in a follow up tweet: “For the most part I do believe that things should be settled privately, however in this case it is really inappropriate behavior, especially for a professional”.
For his part, HarryHook put out a very unapologetic apology, in which he attacked the accuser and then concluded with “Sorry for calling some girls whores”.
The removal is the latest roster shake up for the Dallas Fuel. In the past week, the Dallas Fuel released their star DPS Gui-un “Decay” Jang, assistant coach Louis “Tikatee” Lebel-Wong, and their head coach Aaron “Aero” Atikins as part of a plan to restructure their team going into the Overwatch League playoffs. The action against Harryhook was unrelated to those shake ups, since it was punishment for misconduct instead of being part of their plants to restructure.
