When is the next FNCS going to take place? The FNCS Global Championship has now concluded and we’ve moved into more of a downtime for Fortnite esports. Although, we’re never too far from the next FNCS Major! Before that, we’ve even got more Divisional tournaments coming up for FNCS level players.

When is the Next FNCS?

All year, we’ve had Majors taking place. Starting with the Divisional Cups that launched with Chapter 6 Season 1. Through to the final Major 3 that finished up C6 S3 and the Global Championship which found new champions. but now we’re looking at a fresh year. With a brand-new format. What’s planned with the next FNCS?

When is the Next FNCS?

The next FNCS likely won’t be taking place for quite a while. We’ve already seen the tournament wrap up for this year. We’re essentially just waiting until the next chapter right now. Looking at the Fortnite season end date, we’re on track to begin a new Chapter in December. This will be when we get firm dates for the next FNCS. It could even be when tournaments resume.

Last time, we got our early FNCS Divisional Cups starting up in December, to place everyone for the year ahead. This wasn’t the major, but it was the opening bell for the Fortnite Champion Series. If we have a similar format this time it could start up pretty early.

The actual Major won’t be coming until 2026. And there’s still quite a few unknowns about how the tournament series is going to work.

FNCS Gets a New Format in 2026

We’ve already received some news on what’s happening next year for the FNCS, getting announced alongside the FNCS LAN results. We’re getting a similar format with Majors and an end of year LAN. However, this year there’s an expansion. There’s going to be quite a few more LANs and extra tournaments. There’s stuff for mobile, stuff for Reload, but also a mid-season LAN for FNCS. This will mean a major format change.

For a start, we’re now in Duos. We’ve seen major players already find their new partners for next year. But some of the biggest names are still solo. So, it’ll take a little longer to find out who is competing with who next year.

Previously, every Major secured teams their slots at the finals. However, with a mid-season LAN we’ll need to adjust it. The game will need a wider qualification system to find the best Fortnite players for each region by mid-season. We’ll have to wait and see what’s planned from Epic and Blast for the upcoming year.

There’s also the factor of storm surge that needs addressing. Epic has been testing the waters to find a fix for this grim surge trading meta, but we’ve had no announcement just yet. This is one area which will take a bit longer to get news on.

What else is coming this year? Through the season, we’re going to see C6 S4 tournaments for Reload, OG, Cash Cups, and FNCS Divisional events returning. This time switching to Duos which could be very interesting. We’ll have to see which Duos form after the next FNCS LAN has concluded.
