When Does Fortnite Winterfest end? It’s fun to get a Christmas event, with the snow, items, and free cosmetics, but it can drag on. The snow gets a bit tiresome, as does seeing snowman all the time. Especially with the game not getting any new content updates until it wraps up. The current Winterfest has been a little lackluster too, leaving players asking how long until it actually leaves?
Most Fortnite Chapters now begin in Winter. Players get a short while to check out the new map before the snow descends, covering it. This year, Epic didn’t have snow over the entire map though! It’s still covering a bit of the game’s world, which is a little strange since it’s a brand-new map still. The presents and items are more stripped back too. But if you’re waiting to see them leave sooner, the Fortnite Winterfest end date is getting closer now.
This date will be when everything leaves. The Winterfest cabin will no longer be accessible. Any unopened presents will go away too, especially with the change to how they unlock this year. With the stingier change this time to the presents no longer stacking, some might have already been locked out. If you’re eagerly awaiting things going back to normal, this is when Fortnite Winterfest ends.

The Fortnite Winterfest end date was announced alongside the update first arriving, we’ve had a countdown the whole time. It’s currently planned for January 5th.
That’s when we’re expecting Winterfest to end. It’ll close up the Winterfest cabin, and probably put the map back to normal. it’s a few days later than New Years which typically ends the Christmas festivities, but it gives Epic a few more days on their break.
We’re expecting everything to get back into the vault for the year. The biggest change for gameplay is the items and snow leaving. The game hasn’t had a major meta change for Winterfest in quite a while though. This year and the one before, we only saw a few items added. They’ve been pretty unimpactful, not really competing with the best Fortnite weapons in player’s loadouts. They’ll be gone at the Fortnite Winterfest end date though.

The map will also go back to normal once it ends. The shop’s cycle should carry on as normal, but we’ll probably see less Winterfest skins cycled in since they won’t be as relevant. The small chance of getting a non-circle storm will also be taken away! This type of storm might not have even popped up for everyone given how low the odds of it happening were. But we could see some other storm shapes added in the place of the snowman.
For changes like the storm circle, we’ll have to wait and see what comes with the new update.
There’s one major change to how the Fortnite Winterfest end date will work this year. In the past, players could wait until the last few days, log in, and get all of their Fortnite presents at once. Now, that doesn’t work though.

Epic decided this year that presents were a one at a time thing. you had to log in every day, or you’d miss out. It meant that if you missed three days, you could no longer get every present.
This means the Fortnite Winterfest end date isn’t as much of a deadline anymore. Either you’ve claimed everything in time and you’ll be fine, or you can get one more present on the last day. There won’t be any more free Fortnite skins once the next update arrives.
That’s how the Fortnite Winterfest end date works, but what comes next? The game is getting a new update on January 5th. We don’t know too much about what’s coming yet though.
We only moved into Chapter 7 at the start of December. We probably can’t expect anything too major in the next update. So new POIs or major weapon changes are unlikely. Outside of the Winterfest additions being removed again. Although, the game might be due a balancing patch at this point.
Now we’ve had a whole month, we should have a better idea of how things are balanced. It isn’t a situation like C6 S4, where the game clearly required a massive balancing change with an overpowered item. But some changes could be coming.
Chapter 7 will be a longer season, with a while until its end date, and it’s not got an FNCS running. So, the balance isn’t going to be too important this time. Hopefully, the next update will keep things interesting though.
