Spider-Pig Fortnite Companion Coming Soon

If you’ve been waiting for collabs to come to Fortnite pets, it’s going to start pretty soon. One of the next companions to get added is going to be Spider-Pig. These have been a fun feature over the last weeks. Although, players have discovered their limitations pretty well at this point.

Pets are one of the more harshly priced cosmetics we’ve gotten added. Somehow even outdoing Fortnite kicks for their value. With collabs coming as companions now though, they’re definitely here to stay. The first will be Spider-Pig. Despite his name, he’s not part of the biggest Fortnite collab (Marvel), but the current season. When can we expect this new companion to get released?

Collabs Come to Fortnite Companions

At this point, when Fortnite adds a new cosmetic category, it doesn’t take long until we start to see collaborations show up too. It was inevitable that they came to Fortnite pets too. The first though, is going to be Spider-Pig.

This new item will mean pretty much anything can be a companion. It’s a useful tool for helping the game bring in characters that don’t typically fit Fortnite hitboxes. As the feature rolls out to more modes, players should get a bit more value out of it too.

One of the bigger controversies for the Fortnite companions so far has been the customization. You get to do it once, and then that’s it. If you want to change it you have to buy the same item twice. It locks in forever. This combined with a higher price tag for companions has made their launch a bit controversial.

A lot of players are quite upset at the customization lock. But it does seem like it’s staying that way. There probably won’t be much room for customization with the next collab companion though.

Spider-Pig Companion

The current season is a Simpsons mini season, and we’re getting one more character as a companion. It’ll be Spider-Pig! That’s the pig Homer briefly adopts in the Simpsons Movie. After having him act out a handful of different movies, the name settles on a Marvel parody. It’s Spider-Pig that kicks the main plot of the movie off. He hasn’t been featured much since. Really being a one-off character. But if players have only seen the movie, and then forgotten about the Simpsons until it took over Fortnite, then this will be a big feature!

This collaboration will seemingly be the main one for Fortnite Simpsons. We’ve gotten quite a few skins in the Battle Pass already though. This Spider-Pig companion will be in the shop instead. It’s already appeared in Fortnite leaks, but it’ll probably pop up in the game sooner than later too.

When’s the Release Date?

Whenever a new collab item shows up in Fortnite leaks, the big question is when will it come to the game properly? For things coming to the item shop, it’s always hard to predict. Once they’re put into the game in the files, they’re basically ready. But things can sit waiting for a long time.

We’ll definitely see Spider-Pig released this season if it’s coming at all though! The new companion will arrive at some point before the season ends in November. It could be this week, or with a future update. If they’re spacing the skins out then we’ll probably see Moe get his time in the shop first, before Spider-Pig comes later in the month.
