Can You Gift Fortnite Skins From Your Locker?

The biggest request with how to gift Fortnite skins is if you can gift skins you already own. Older skins, ones you don’t want that someone else might make use of. You can’t gift skins from your locker, unfortunately.

Epic limits what you can gift to the items that are actually in the current item shop. There’s a good reason for it too. Essentially, while it would be convenient to be able to trade skins between lockers, it opens the door to buying and selling skins.

Players could use a third-party marketplace to list a rare or old skin for sale. When someone pays with real cash, they could send the skin over using the method for how to gift skins in Fortnite. It would open a big door open to players re-selling their skins.

While this probably wouldn’t bother players, who would only benefit from being able to buy and sell their skins, it is very much against Epic’s rules. Since this would be an easy way to facilitate skin sales that are against the rules, we probably won’t be able to gift Fortnite skins from the locker anytime soon.

What Can You Gift?

You can’t gift old skins, but what in the item shop can you gift? Most stuff in the item shop. Obviously free Fortnite skins don’t need gifting. Then there’s other purchases like the Pass or Crew subscription.

These are a bit different. You can’t gift a Crew Subscription in the traditional way. Players need to subscribe themselves, but you could get them a gift card to cover it if you were really set on gifting that. Then there’s the Passes; Battle, Festival, OG, and Lego. These can be gifted! However, it does get turned off towards the end of the season. But buying a Battle Pass gets turned off around the same time, so it should be a limit that players are used to. You also buy them in cash for friends, not V-Bucks, since the Pass contains V-Bucks it would a backdoor to buying cheaper V-Bucks using a second account.

Outside of that, anything in the item shop is available to gift skins in Fortnite! You can do bundles, or even individual items. You can only gift five items a day though. If you’re feeling very generous you’ll have to spread them out.
