When is Fortnite Winterfest 2025?

Fortnite is getting a new Chapter soon. It means the excitement of a fresh map and weapons, then all that to get taken over by Fortnite Winterfest 2025! Each year snow comes, takes over the map, and we get a bunch of content in the game.

We won’t be spending Fortnite Winterfest 2025 on the Simpsons map, but somewhere new. The teasers from Epic so far for Chapter 7 have been focusing on story elements that are returning. But Fortnite Winterfest 2025 leaks have shown off some of the actual content that could be coming. Dataminers have been digging in since the last Fortnite update, and they’ve found some interesting new content.

Winterfest is always a fun time in-game. It is mainly here to keep players busy while Epic’s developers take one of only two breaks in a year. However, we get new items to keep things lively, and free items! It’s one of the times of a year where players expect free Fortnite skins to come thick and fast! According to leakers, there is an exciting collab coming for one of this year’s free skins too. This is what we know so far:

What is Fortnite Winterfest?

Fortnite has a few different events throughout the year. We’ve just wrapped up Fortnitemares, which is for Halloween. But we’ve also got Winterfest still to come! That’s the holiday event that happens in the game every year. The developers go on a break and there’s two weeks of scripted content added to the game.

That usually means the map gets covered in snow! While a snow biome is common on most of the maps, it’s the entire island in past seasons. It can even bury some places on the map. Fortnite Winterfest 2025 might do a few things differently there, but that’s normally the case.

As well as unvaulted items, we get new quests. And there’s free cosmetics which you can collect! There’s typically a screen full of presents, and you can open one a day. With various types of cosmetic items given out. In most Fortnite seasons, this includes a handful of free skins. Which is one of the bigger Fortnite Winterfest 2025 leaks so far.

All Fortnite Winterfest 2025 Leaks

While we’re still in the Fortnite Simpsons mini season, but dataminers are already finding a few pieces of the winter event. So far, we have a handful of early leaks.

Leakers think the snow covering the map is going to be different his time. In the past, it’s been a whole map taken over by snow. We don’t get a full look at each biome and how the geography will be until the snow recedes. Which can take more than one update after season ends. However, this time it’ll apparently not be the full map.

It’ll instead just be some POIs. Since we’ll have only just found this map, it’ll let players explore a little better.

In terms of items, we don’t know much about what’s coming. Last year, we pretty much just got a grappler. That had an awful glitch that let players build momentum indefinitely to zip across the map as fast as possible. Of course, that got vaulted in an emergency hotfix… so we got very little. Fortnite Winterfest 2025 will probably have some extra items to play with instead.

The big leak so far though, is a new collab skin! Dataminers have found a new Christmas skin in the files, and it seems it’ll be one of the upcoming Fortnite skins. A new version of Hatsune Miku is coming to the game, a winter or Christmas themed one! There’s plenty of existing deigns for the character that are holiday themed, so it makes sense. It’ll be a big Fortnite collab to end up being free though. Hopefully, this means the other vocaloid skin that got leaked will finally arrive soon too.

When is Winterfest 2025?

When are we expecting Fortnite Winterfest 2025? While the build-up to holidays might get stretched out elsewhere, it’s got a pretty set schedule in Fortnite. It’ll be a little while still. We’re in the midst of the Simpsons mini season, once that season ends, we’ll begin a brand-new Chapter. This year, Winterfest will be beginning within a week or two of the season launching!

This schedule means we get a new map, weapons, meta, then Winterfest hits and covers everything in snow and changes the items. It’s a strange bit of timing which always cut into the excitement or a new map. in some ways it can be fun though. Once the map returns after the snow, we’ve usually spent so little time on it, it’s still pretty much new.

The Winterfest 2025 event will likely start in the final weeks of December. It’s always timed to coincide with Epic’s winter break.
